I think Star Ocean: The Second Story is probably my favorite game of all time. It had all the good RPG elements and I never got tired of it. I liked how you could get different endings with certain characters (and each character had a possible ending with each other), which I absolutely love in RPGs. It was also cool that you could create different items and whatnot. This game was just amazing. I also like the Real Time Battle...it just seems more realistic instead of turn based.Has anyone else played this game? I was kinda sad to play Star Ocean: Till The End of Time. It didn't seem quite the same as the first two Star Oceans and it just kinda...died for me. I dunno. What do you all think?

I've only played those two. Second Story was epic, and End of Time was pretty good....until that one certain point I'm sure most people know. It made me feel like my previous adventure with Claude and Rena was......pointless in a way.

I played Star Ocean 2 when it came out..I still have my copy. Very good game and it can get challenging. I enjoyed it and recommend it to any true rpg'er. I started Star Ocean 3 and got stuck somewhere and never went back to it. It doesn't have the charm of the previous game, but I intend to finish it oneday.

About the same as everyone else, which is to say SO3 pretty much killed the series for me, just didnt have the same effect on me as the others all did.Oh well, hopefully they keep the series going and go back to what made it great in the first place.

initially i was attracted to thepossible multiple endings.. though it is a disappointment because the endings are just different conversations from the different characters...however, the gameplay, the bonus dungeon, and the mini games are what making this game not dull

I just started playing this game yesterday. I'm at Cross castle at level 27 after getting the King permission to investigate the Sorcery Globe. It's rather complicated in the Beginning since I don't really know what to max out for skills in the beginning. I had trouble with the fighting system. The game should insert a tutorial for us beginners. =/

I have all three, and beat all three.SO2 is good but its not as great as everyone makes it out to be.SO3 is brutally tough and requires intense level grinding.SO1 was generally easy, SO2 had some killer boss fights towards the end(With the ten wise).SO3 was on a whole different level though. They ramped up the difficulty so much that you cant beat the final boss without being at lvl 100(which requires insane lvl grinding), optional boss are even tougher, and the last secret boss(freya) is impossible to beat, and my party was lvl 170+ with the best equipment

Star Ocean is a great RPG. It's a game that's oft overlooked, but worth every hour I put in it.
