Well... I still have an N64 and use it most days... so even if the NDS goes out of style I'll still be using it every single day :]

I hope it never dies, though the GBA is dying in front of us. The DSi doesn't have a GBA slot, so people won't be able to play them anymore if they get the DSi. You can still play your normal ds games on the DSi, so that's a good thing.

whenever nintendo releases the next gen of handhelds, the ds will wane, assuming the new gen is made right. the haandheld gaming console, on the other hand, is eternal. gameboys have resheped car trips forever :gs:

i hope not anytime soon.im not looking forward to the DSi though, as it will be dropping the GBA slot? it gains a camera, whoopty doo.but at least this shows their not planning on dropping it anytime soon. Perhaps they will just release new models of it with more modern attachments and designs, cause the touch screen is very sexy, it will never die baby!

The only time the DS will die is when Nintendo releases a new handheld gaming system. Like when it replaced the GBA. However that's ages away (~ 4 years from now).

I'm amazed the DS has lived as long as it has. Nintendo has done an excellent job with keeping it fresh, and the DSi appears to be no exception.

The DSi is being advertised now of course, but I don't think the DS Lite is going to go away anytime soon. The DSi is expensive and a lot of people have a lot invested in the older game.

That would never end the era of Nintendo DS. The only thing that could end it is if Nintendo comes out with a newer better DS or no more games come out.

I am thinking that DS would die soon since all system has a end. Even the great systems. Think about GameCube, the greatest game system even after all the other games came out. So im sure DS would die out. :gs:

The DS dynasty will last as long as people find it interesting. That is probably why they are releasing new colours. Also it will last until something more advanced will over take it.

DS will eventually die but it has a LOOONG way to go yet. all of the games advertised on the tv will indicate about 1 or 2 more years of the DS but since there are new games coming out every week it is hard to tell when the DS will diecolor=#000000]

I think it'll die in 2 or 3 years (a year after Nintendo announces a new portable game system)

in my opinion, there are a few reasons that i think the ds wont die for a long time, like its predecessor the gba:1. Portability, it can be played anywhere and anytime, except when the battery is low.2. Special Functions, Touch Screen, Mic, Hinge, Dual Screen Concept, Buttons that resemble the gba, even more to a snes controller.,and 3. Sutiable for all ages. It seems nintendo is creating games that target all ages, where in the past games just targeted the children to late teenager group.Considering how long gba lasted, ds is gonna be around for a long time, for sure... im gonna feel mighty stupid if it aint coz of this post.*It is probably the cheapest game system out their for today's standards*

I think, the DS will stay for a while. Itīs handy, quite cheap in comparision with others and good to handle.GreezRollo
