It's not going to be a night to day type of thing, the market has been completely saturated with units, it's going to be quite some time before they pull the plug on this one. If anything they'll add backwards compatibility to the new version and it'll become something of a Super DS, imo.

DS will not die so fast, as long as great games keep coming up.

The DS was pretty revolutionary, so Nintendo is gunna stick with it for a while. And who doesn't want their DS in pink?

DS won't die quick because its still pretty cool playing it. and the fact that most multiplayer games only requires one person having the cartridge is a bright idea.

I think it will be a very long time before the DS dies. Even once the new generation of handheld consoles come out the DS will still be popular. Nintendo have really taken the market with this generation, it is suitable for minors all the way to those who are so old they can barely hold the stylus.I think it can only be topped by Nintendo's next handheld release. Don't see Sony beating.

If you look at the directory of that site you'll see a file called nintendo_ds_2_2.jpg which looks different btw. It's obviously just some fan work of what a DS2 could look like. It also even states the artist at the bottom of the pic. Also I don't think the DS will die yet. They've just started making more use of all the things it can do.

I think with the number of hardware-pushing games lined up for the DS and the popularity of the Wii, it will be here for a while longer. Just as long as it holds out for the Kingdom Hearts game.

i don't think it'll ever die. there are a ton of games still coming out for the ds. if anything, it'll die once they come out with something better and i don't think that's going to be any time soon.

DS will only die when nintendo releases a successor for the DS.That's gonna take a long time.Besides, Nintendo would want to exploit the DS as much as they can.

The DS is probably at the peak of its career, why would it die out now? its more poplar than ever with games for all ages. Also, the DS/Wii connectivity is a newish idea, i expect they will get more profit from that, and more and more new ideas are coming fom it, like guitar hero, so personally, i cant see it dying out until either nintendo release a new handheld, or, the DS ideas pot runs dry.

I'd say around 2012 the DS will die. It's really going well though, so I might be wrong.

all handhelds will die sooner or later, i guess nintendo won't want ds to die so they'll probobly make it better or make some better version of it to replace the old ones.

Actually is up to nintendo... If they give more and more space for 3rd parties to create new games and/or new ways to play games through DS or Wii/DS connectivity... i might take some years to find out the end of DS... I wonder if Nintendo is thinking of using the Ds controller (The touch screen to be more specific) as an alternative controller for some/any Wii game... It would be cool

I don't think it'll go out of business so soon. It's fun, cheaper than other consoles and have a variety of games. Plus it can also be used for emulators
