I believe the NDS will last well into the next generation of hand-helds, it was the same way with the GBA, they continued making games for it for quite awhile (do they still make them?) after the DS came out, so, I think the DS is good for another number of years (they could always advance it the way they did with the original gameboy through to the gameboy color) can anyone say '3D projections'?

Honestly, this handheld system wont be dead for quite some time. I mean look at the GBA, its still alive in a sense and people still play it. Even 5 years from now the DS will still be pumping out games because of its touch screen capability. They might not be good games...but they will still be making them.

As long as people need something to do on long trips, while in bed, or just to beat bordem when you can't do anything else.People will always play their DS.

Geh, it's already dead man. I feel so out dated when I play mine, but its a choice between that and the gamecube, D:I dont have a wii, and that makes me sad (kinda unrelated rite thar.)

I believe the DS and anything after it will live for a long time. Nintendo has always brought us remarkable systems and new concepts. The dual screen is something rather unseen in the gaming world and it's pricing is one of the best for a current handheld. Nintendo will build on this when they decide what to make next. The DS isn't going anywhere soon, trust me

You may also remember that that the N64 also did this before it was cut, to try and get a bit more profit out of it. Could this be the end of the DS era?

Look how long the gameboys have been around and evolved..Expect to see the ds' around till they take over the world... 0_oand we're their human slaves..Sure do hope, we get a new design or see through "color" soon enough tho.or I'll have to try getting a mod/custom? x.x
