Books is better than movies, because many important and interesting part of the storyline usually found on the book, but not in the movie. Harry Potter is example for this. For you who read the book of this title, you know what I mean.

Easily 'Catch Me If You Can'. Don't get me wrong, the movie was great, but you just can't fit a life and all of the experiences into a 2 hour movie slot, half of the persona's he undertook were missing from the film but are found in the book.

The three most obvious ones I can think of are I Am Legend, Eragon and of course HP.I Am Legend the movie, was pretty good as long as you didn't read the book first. But once you start reading, you realise how different the movie was from the book, especially the ending. The movie also lacked one feature which I thought was important, it didn't make the viewers feel that sense of loneliness which the book did.

i think harry potter books are much better compared to the movie.. not to mention that a lot of scenes were cut off.. and well, even the best part was not presented well.. Spiderwick.. i'm very disappointed about the movie... seven books compiled to one movie?.. all those excitng scenes disappeared? i wonder if the Twilight will have a very, quite good cinematography.. i hope so...

Eragon. The movie producers competely butchered the book to make a crappy movie. They made it into a competely different story.

LOTR books were only slightly better than the Peter Jackson movies. The earlier movies were absolute trash though. The animated ones were terrible.I haven't watched any Narnia movies. The books were good though. All of the Jules Verne novels were better than the movies. I can't think of any others.

It's been said before, and it's so horrible I'll say it again, but the Narnia and Eragon movies. :(LOTR books were slightly better, but they were too hard for me to read when the movies first came out. :DI read them later though.

Let's start with a popular one: Harry Potter.

Lets see.. XD Narnia was a good book but the movie was kinda lame... andThe Series of Unfortunate Events was another one that the movie lacked action.

So true, i really hate books to movie conversions. The worst one i have seen lately is Eragon, the book was just soooo awesome, but the movie took out way more than half of the main plot and just screwed with the rest of it is sucked so bad i cant stand it.

Twilight. the movie was a total waste of cash. they just used the vampire issue as a cover-up to a chick flick.

Harry potter books, obviously. The movies aren't even in league with the books.

Eragon, the DaVinci Code, Twilight, Harry Potter (especially The Order of the Phoenix because they left out the friggin part about the swamp!)Although, I think the Narnia movies turned out fairly ok, and filmography definitely does the Lord of the Rings Trilogy justice.
