Different classes strike my curiousity on their skills and stuff XD. Thats one of the things i think is needed in a good RPG (an example is fire emblem games).

I'd prefer more classes. Why? More flashy skills or sprites/characters to look at. Weapons aren't really that much of a big deal.

It's all about character classes for me, as long as there is a large character class selection I'm usually fine with the game.

I would have to agree with you on that one. Even if your a Scout or something, you can still use tons to millions of kick %*# weapons.

it'd be nice to have a good balance of both, like the first final fantasy tactics

exactly, in an rpg the tactics come from having mulitple classes and then it comes down to finding the best weapons in the game. but in FFTA the multiple weapons bestowed skills and ablities thus enabling an awesome balance and adding greater depth to the RPG.

clearly the answer is classes because some of the best weapons can only be equipped by certain classes

Without a doubt, character classes. Those are the most fun part of any RPG for me. The more unique and customizable each character is, the more exciting the game.

Personally, Character Class is teh way to go. Who wants 5 mages, or 7 cavaliers, or 12 mercenarys? It's pointless, ya need customization and options. They could all weild and iron sword and I'd b satisfied. But then again, thats just my opinion. But if I had to use any weapon, it would be a Tomahawk because A, the name is awesome, and B, its just beastly.

i like more weapons to choose from, especially when the game let's you craft your own weapon like summon night or castlevania (the one with hector as the main character) or thousand arms...its more fun to earn the necessary materials rather than having different abilities you can't use all at once

I would have to say character class so that your team is more well rounded. Personally though, I prefer games that offer both such as Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Character class puts a unique style into your game. Just can't go with plenty of weapons ifyour abilities aren't as fancy, right? I've chosen character class most the time, unless ofcoursethe game requires you have better weapons like the PC game Fate. Not much class, but plentyof weaponry.

The Paladin from Final Fantasy games is my favorite class. It has the benefits of a knight but with White Magic. I prefer Black Magic but White Magic is nice because it helps to heal other characters and since the Paladin already deals too much damage with his strength having White Magic can be a real good kicker to have at times. As for the weapon I like plenty of them, so I would say it is a matter of how well it suits each character. ¿How would Zell look with a sword instead of using his fists when fighting?

unless the weapon grants you a new skill like in fftactics. character classes are more important.
