I'd rather have weapons. I'm a collector by nature, and weapons are just so much easier to collect and try out than character classes.I just wish the kind of weapon you use did not have to be limited to your own class. It'd be hilarious to see an axe-wielding mage or a bazooka-wielding thief.

I would say weapons, cause if you can switch between different weapons and have alot, you can really put the hurt on enemies in different ways.

I would choose classes, because, for things like Ragnarok, I usually do not need many strong weapons since I usually take the side of supporter.

I really feel the adding more weapons than characters adds a more useful dimension to RPG's. Having different character classes means a certain amount of variability for sure, but that means you need to replay the game several times. Not always enjoyable, especially if the it isn't a good game. But providing more weapon variability and maybe more learnable skills provides that little bit extra when it comes to lengthening a game or providing more complexity, without having to re-play the game to get that.

It all depends on the game you are currently playing. If the rpg is focused more on one character than weapons is the obvious choice, Due to the lacking of classes that will experience battle at any single time. However if the rpg is more party based then classes would be the major factor in that field, due to the fact you can get a feel of what combinations feel right.

Depending on the game type most of the time I would prefer to have weapon types like those that can upgrade and having more special abilities.

Id prefer weapons as it gives more leeway for you to play with. But character classes limit yourself to certain weapons.

classes are the way to go.normally the weapons in character class would be more powerful as it is directed to only one class.

It depends really....like some rpg's have fantastic looking weapons and junk classes.Take tactics ogre knights of lodis, it may be a strategy rpg but it has weapons like the snapdragon and classes like the lich. Variety ftw?The final fantasy tactics advance games have that too but it's more in depth so it's like the cooler weapons you have the better abilities you get for different classes. FFTA alone had what 40 classes? FFAT2 has more than that...it depends on the game and of course the system of how it goes.

Character class is more important in my opinion because if there are more character classes. There are different ways you can play the game, and different strategies you can use. Although the same could be said about weapons, but with classes there can be more variety than weapons.

Character classes are way better than weapons. You only get one weapon, but with a class, you can have multiple skills, multiple weapons to equipt, and multiple other options.
