well, when you play the adding game, you get quicker at adding up numbers, whether it helps you with anything else or not is a different matter, one which I don't know the answer to.

I've used both 1 and 2. it does make you remember basic mulitplications and such, i haven't used them in a while. I don't get what hte piano lessons help with, but most of them are training your brain to remember math equations.. they use almost the same problems every time to train your mind to get them all done correctly and faster each time. The dash fiinish line portion of the game is good to train your quick math to add and subtract the place of your runner as people run by or you run by them.. so it does train your brain somewhat but probly not the way you may have been hoping. If your left handed it lets you set it so its easy to use as a lefty too. I played for some days with the braintraining on my boyfriend's DS and I suppose it is a game that makes your reflexes improove, but not raises your IQ, simply helps you get faster on simple maths, visual quickness and so. I think its useful for those people who wanna steady up their mind but don't like reading or going to courses. It's a symple way, a playful one and in some ways addicting.I also think that it should take into account that not everyone writes in the same way, and fr that reason sometimes you fail responses while writing numbers or letters, 'cause even you write clearly and well, sometimes the machine doesn't read properly.

Yeah it works, but I doubt it raises your IQ. The games work pretty well to increase your thinking speed and memory, but you can't raise somebodys IQ by doing basic addition lol.

i played the first one and blew it out of the water. but i guess that's because i'm still young and my brain still works fairly well. it won't drastically make you smarter but it won't make you dumber.

I think it might help... if I can get the game to work properly?I mean, I only played a bit on a friend's DS (didn't bother to download it for emulator). And she has a Japanese version, but doesn't matter, the game I was stuck on I know how to play it.You have to yell out the color of the words shown...and after feeling very stupid yelling "aka" "ao" "aka" "kuro"...The DS only recognizes like 2 out of 5 @@

I think brain traing really works, people like albert enstine did 15-20 crossword puzzels a day to make his brain moving, it's great to get brain excersize.

I just got this game (as in I have not even put it in my ds yet (it is charging atm) ) and I can not wait. I love little math problems. If I do not do either a crossword or sudoku for a couple days, I feel lazy. This should help (I hope).

Actually since IQ takes into account the speed at which one can do calculations, and doing basic addition raises the speed at which you can perform, it does raise your IQ. It might not be much, but there should be some increase from regular use of the Brain Training and related games. I know for myself, I started off pretty horrible at them, but after a while of playing, I got better and I have even noticed a difference in my ability to think things through.

I don't think it works. Like all things. Practice makes perfect. So the more you play on the game the better you get. So you are actually just getting better on the game but it's not exactly improving your braininess.

i agree with irorus, I think you just get used to the game itself rather than it sharpening your brain. that's why when you don't play it for quite a while, you get lower mark coz you're not used to the game anymore.
