It depends on the game. If the chick looks good, then I play as a chick. If not then I pick the badass guy. You're going to have to stare at the character for a LONG time, so it might as well be apealing.

it depends on the game and how i feel when im playing. i say i play about half guys and half girls.

Depends in my opinion I usually would play the game twice just to play both sides. But generally I go a male so I can be the white knight riding in to save the day!

Chick almost always... I have my reasons~ Females always look better in nearly all games including the items and gear they get and style it their own way and look much better.

in most rpgs i usually use the main character, or whoever the story follows. in fighting games i choice the best person dude or chick

I play most of the time a male charater .. some times female.Most female charaters are flexibel with moving.And male charater ain't.But it depants on what game i play

The gender choice of character in a game hardly ever effects the actual gameplay.I think you like to play as a girl because it enlightens you.I usually stick to my own gender, which is female.

Uh... Depends on the game.Usually women tend to be better in fighting games for me, RPGs the guys have a better magic department, and in GH: WT I always like to play as the guys because I'm not one to dress women fashionly...

i usually play through games as a guy first, then beat it a second time with the girl. in fighting games, I usually pick the coolest looking guy there, but almost always end up ruling everyone with a female character.

You took the words right out of my mouth, that's pretty much how I decide on the gender I play as. Other than WoW that is - all my characters are female blood elves...I usually use females for the more agility-demanding classes, such as Rogues or Rangers, and males for stuff like Warriors and Paladins. I'm not a mage user, so I can't really say for sure, but I'd probably do a mixture of both, depending on the class.

I always play a guy, but I love it when female characters are available for play. There was a girl in my French class who always wanted to play a female in games, and was disappointed when they were unavailable.

Well, assuming I've got two options, which one I choose usually just depends on my mood. Generally I'll do both playthroughts, though which one I choose first is pretty random. Though usually, If I'm playing a game more than twice, I'll use the girl; as many people have said, they tend to be more agile.
