Yeah man, so true. They always capitalize unscrupulously like that, just like cutting the 7th harry potter into two movies. They should stop trying to remake old pokemon games for new stations and either A) finally make that pokemon MMORPG or B) Keep on inventing those crazy crazy monsters10 currently. But you divide by two because each comes out in a set with just a few pokemon different for each. (makes 5) They are absolutely diluting the pokemon idea. I mean, remaking EVERY game AND adding a second one just to get the extra sales from that "pokemon only available in the other version" is just ridiculous. But oddly enough I am curious to see if they remake gold and silver (crystal?) and if they bomb everything. The game is amazing without being on the DS, but if they remake it they'll make it flashy and there probably won't be berry trees and the radio stations. Those were what set the game apart from all the others. I would be severly dissapointed if they turned this classic into another useless cashcow aimed at the new pokemon generation.

Honestly though, the whole dividing each generation into two games was a brilliant sales strategy. Other games have started following suit too (Zelda Oracles of Seasons/Ages, Megaman Battle Network Proto/Colonel). Granted it does get kind of annoying to people like me who can barely afford to get one of the versions.

gold/silver are my best installments to the game...i really enjoyed the part when you could really continue adventure in Kanto region and you arent restricted in only one...

although platinum may be newer the only difference between that and diamond/pearl is girintina and a few game upgrades.
yeah with d/p/platinum you only had the samw sinnoh region it would be good to have a ds game with different placesgold/silver are my best installments to the game...i really enjoyed the part when you could really continue adventure in Kanto region and you arent restricted in only one...

This remake is inevitiable. I still thing they should remake Fire Red again with this new engine over making a fifth gen pokemon game. I really cant wait, Cant wait to choose Cyndaquil

This is like a remake of gold/silver/red/blue not just gold/silver for the reason Kanto will be included. It's confirmed, mt. silver, the magnet train, are all in this game. You can expect to be battling through 16 gym leaders, and possibly (hopefully) red at the top of mount silver. I'll also place my money on the fact that you will probably be given a red/blue/yellow starter, and catch a lot of Kanto pokemon, and even be able to capture the legendary birds and Mewtwo. The reason why they would do this is some people don't use wifi to trade with people to get the old Pokemon. It was pretty easy for me to get 400+ Pokemon in my Pearl game just going on forums asking people to trade me an egg of some Pokemon I didn't have. Getting legendaries was pretty easy too since the cloning glitch became so easy, you could just ask anyone with those old legendaries that they transferred to clone you one. It is hard to get those untouched legendaries though, since most people had trained theirs. Now especially since the new DSi does not have support for palpark since the removal of the slot-2 gba slot, it's just more of a reason to include those Kanto Pokemon.This remake is inevitiable. Crystal as in the character? She won't be in as far as we know.But there will be story elements from the Pokemon Crystal game. Eusine will be in it. I'm quite excited for this game to come out in north america... feels... nostalgicand the graphics somehow seem so much better than platinum... feels more 3Dbut yeah, it was such a great enjoyment playing the original silver back in 6th grade

From what I've read a pedometer peripheral will also be available to upload pokémon and train them while you walk. which is cool, kinda holds the pedometer concept close to the G/S set. Like Pikapet 2 was for the original games.

The ROM has been leaked for several hours...it's only a matter of time before it's downloadable here. :oMe, I'll just keep reading the sites that're leaking info until it comes out in the states.
