i think that she should have to pay because if you go to a restaraunt, order something to eat they bring it out to you and you say that i have to leave they won't serve that food to someone else they have to throw it away

No, she should not have to pay for the tea, since the tea is complementory just like the bread at olive garden.

You pay for the preperation of food/drink!You don't pay per bite... If food or drink has been prepared as your ordered it, then you have to pay!You don't get anorexics just ordering food for the hell of it, and then just wandering out...

If she didn't ask for it, no. If she did, then definitely yes! But since she has to pay she should drink some anyways and then pay for it.

I've done something like this before. I went into a place and ordered drinks for me and my friend. Got the menu and was looking at it but decided I didn't want to eat there. I gave the waiter $10 to pay for the drinks and a small tip because of my stupid idea and wasting his time.

It was the waiter's fault for bringing tea and why would the two stop having a conversation, it could easily be unnoticed.I found myself in a similar dilemma. In a restaurant where they brought out bread before the menu. I took a piece and after seeing the menu I realized there wasn't anything that I wanted in the restaurant. I ended up staying anyways, ignoring the dilemma. But if the waiter had asked me to pay for it, I would have if it wasn't expensive. If it was overpriced, hell no. I feel that the women should not have to pay however as she didn't order the kettle and could parhaps not have noticed it. It was the waiter's fault for putting the kettle out without asking.

kind of mixed on the situation. while she didn't eat or drink anything, thus she shouldn't have to pay, she took up time and space in the restaurant that could have been used for paying customers. all businesses are interested in profits, so they will nickel and dime for anything that is possible. the expression "time is money" holds true for all businesses, which explains why they are relentless about payment

well, regardless if she ordered it or not.. i think yes. how rude is it to waltz into a restaurant and sit down, order nothing.. then leave? you would think that some payment is due for making the waiter work.

She should. She ordered it off the menu and somebody has to be paid for making the tea.

I agree with smilylover. The woman should pay because the tea would have never been made if she didn't order it. If she left before the tea reached the table I would change my answer to NO.

well i guess, yes....so that, she not make trouble with restaurant altough the one who need to get it must be her friend,...and if she meet her friend again, she can tell her about what happen and ask her friend to get back her money....if her friend avoid it, she can show a receipt that she got from that restaurant to her friend...CASE CLOSED!!! :doom: Happy End! ^_^

Noooooooooooo~...don't pay! If the waiter just out the tea kettle down on the table without them ordering it and they didn't drink from it, then they do not need to pay!

I think she should pay because the waiter did a service by serving the tea to her and she is using the facility of the restraunt.

She shouldn't pay and she shouldn't care about the waiter threatening to call the manager either. What's the manager really going to be mad about if she asked to boil some water? they can just let it cool and boil the water later...

no! she shouldnt pay for the tea she didnt even order it in the first place. Its like me giving everyone a PS3 and commanding everyone to pay $450(i know its no worth that much) up front for it even though you didnt ask for it. You really cant ask somone to pay money if you didnt ask for it, it's just not fair.

Is the cat in the box alive or dead?

If you open the box, you will know the answer.

You will know the truth.

However, until you open the box, you can claim that the cat is alive, and you can also claim it is dead.

She doesn't need to pay for the tea is she did not drink it and if she did not order it. But if the waiter said that the tea cost something and that she needed to pay for it, then she needs to pay for it. Not only should she pay for the tea, but she should also pay for the service because there was no point in going to the restraunt. In other words she just wasted time and a seat for someelse that was actually going to eat there.
