Depends if she ordered it or not. If she did then yes she should pay, if not then no.

It does matter. I think she ordered the drink so she should pay.Although she didn't have it it is just like buying plane tickets, (they are nonrefundable)coffee doesn't cost too much anyway

She should pay if they can find no one else to drink the tea before it gets cold because if they have to dispose of it then it is a cost to them and requires payment.Unless she did not order it, then she does not need to pay for something they shove on you just for sitting down.

No, she shouldn't have to. Why would the waiter give them something without asking them if they had to pay for it?Thats like when you go to Olive Garden and they give you bread. Usually they give you that stuff after you order something. However, if the women had asked for the tea, then yeah, I think she should pay.

I say she should not pay, as there is nothing saying that she asked for the Pot of Tea. So it could have just been left there.

Well technically she shouldn't have to pay: she didn't order, and she didn't drink. But if I were her, I would just pay them a little for causing the inconvenience.Like someone else said, it's a courtesy thing.I don't think it's right to just walk in there, take a table, and then walk out, even if it was all my fault.I would have just told the waiter that I couldn't eat there, sorry, give him some money and walk out.

If that's how the restaurant works, then she should pay. If not for being an idiot and going into a restaurant that charges you for a drink they give you without asking, then for leaving before they even order anything.

I don't think the woman should pay. She didn't drink he tea or eat anything. Besides the tea is served the moment you sit down on the table. It's customary to recieve tea no matter what and is usually and should be complementary anyway. The only tea that should be paid for is tea that is actually ordered and not recieved when you take a seat.

i believe that she should pay for the tea because since she was going to eat so the tea was brought. Seriuosly you dont just go into a restrant and sit at a table and start chatting and then leave do you? That lady just took a place where another person could have sat so paying is really not that unreasonable.

The woman shouldn't have to pay for the tea. She didn't request it, so if its just brought out to her she can onoly assume its free since she wasn't told otherwise.

they didn't request the tea, they didn't order anything and a restaurant can't force people to pay for things for which the restaurant provided, its like being forced to pay for the little sugar packets or napkins, doesn't matter if you used them or not you still don't pay for them.

She should pay.And since she didn't order tea, I assume its just hot water.Hot water is free. So she should pay nothing. Otherwise, it was the servers mistake for bring tea and thus be complementary.

I don't see why there's any question. She should definitely pay.If she ordered it, it's hers, regardless of whether or not she drank it.
