i dont think that any of the previous call of duty games were as popular as other shooters, because they were all basically the samei think that when they went to modern, everyone loved iti like the modern one better, and i do think that it is a bad decicion for tham to go back to ww2

I wouldn't mind, as long as it's not as run and gun as CoD4 turned out to be.

I dont play the CoD series, as it is mindless run n gun and I only play shooters where you have to think(aka tactical shooters or squad based shooters), but I cant stand the ammount of WWII games

CoD5 is going to be set in WWII?NOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!I couldn't get into any other CoD games other than the 4th... and considering they're 3 other WWII games just from CoD series, not to mention Medal of Honor, we need something new, and the fourth did a great job at that.

You shouldn't diss a game that you haven't played, CoD is a tactical shooter.

No, it isnt a tactical shooter. An example of a tactical shooter is Ghost recon, rainbow six(Not that vegas crap), or Operation flashpoint. You die in 1-3 hits(1 bullet on the highest difficulty). There arent many enemies because thats how it would be in real life, but since the enemies have just as much health as you and can shoot accurately, that doesnt matter. That is a tactical shooter.Call of duty is a game like goldeneye, where you take on swarms of enemies. Not to mention you have recharging health. You dont know what a tactical shooter is, buddy. Tactical shooter is an actual genre, for your informationbtw, yes I have played CoD4

We'll never know if it'll never come out, right? No matter how much I say that to myself, I have agree with you. COD4 was an epic game, and I was kind of hoping they would end it there. Once I read about COD5, my first thought was "this game is going to fail". I hope I am wrong about this. If it tops COD4 I'll be even happier.EDIT: Hmm, the failing part was a bit too harsh maybe. "This game better be better than COD4" is more accurate on reflecting my thoughts. I have no problem with the next COD going back to WWII. In fact, I'm curious as to what the developers will do with it. Either way, I am patiently waiting for this game to be released, along with various others (Starcraft II, Diablo III, God of War III, etc.).

i play alot of CoD4 and love it, one of the main reasons i picked up the game is because it WASNT basted in WWII thses days if you find a war game not based in WWII its eather a very crappy game and no one plays it, or its the best game ever (my opinion of CoD4) nearly all other war games are WWII they need to stop.. or switch it up.. how about WWI or some more furture war games? maybe a WWIII..

The WWII theme has been milked dry. I don't necessarily mind the old fashioned war settings, but maybe something besides WWII. True, most of COD4's success was due to the fact that it was a new direction for the series, but they can take the game back in time and still make it new and innovative. ...but not with WWII.

For all we know it could be a market technique, because think about it. CoD 2 was awesome when it came out, then CoD 3 came out. It was such a trainwreck that people just hated it. CoD 4, BOOM! became the greatest game. CoD 5 may suck or it may not we wont know until we see more of It. CoD 6 (if it happens) Would end up like CoD 4, becomes the greatest game next to 4.

Definitely a bad move. There are enough mediocre WWII shooters on the market.

it would be cool to revisit WW2 and give it the treatment they gave CoD4- I want to put a scope on my Thompson and shoot nazis through walls- plus, CoD has never really tackled the pacific theater, maybe instead of the obligitory and invariably awful tank level there could be some levels where you control fighters or bombers

I think they're beating a dead horse here. WWII shooters are played out. How about a Vietnam War based shooter? Or WWI? I just think they're being lazy by rehashing the WWII concept. COD4 was something new, and it was awesome. So why go back? Apart from being an awesome game, COD4 was successful. I just think its overall a bad move. But I could be wrong and this game could be great. We'll have to wait and see.

World War II had to be the most interesting war out there. Other than that we would only have the communist wars, or smaller ones. Obviously, some people intended on making a futuristic war but that would mess up the whole history concept of COD4.

Cod 4 was so much fun, and they already have 3 WW games, why would they need another one.

the truth about it is I wouldnt mind seeing it back at world war two the reason being that its set in a different setting and from what i've seen of the trailer I think it might do pretty well though i hope it doesn't end up being like call of duty 3 (shivers)I'd like to see how it is being in the pacific theatre of WWII instead of how its been with COD 1 2 and 3 and how it stuck to the Europeancampaign through those 3 though I have to admit that infinity ward did a great job with COD 4 I hope that World at War could at least comparewith it and I hope they decide (whoever the developers may be this time around) to finally add a co-op point of view

i agree that it could be interesting to see if a game go into the pacific campaign instead of the beat to a pulp european campaign.but i won't say it'll be a golden child that will desend from heaven and lead us to the promise land no. But it'll hopefully be what most of us hope the closing to the world war 2 consule based games for quite a while. And that it's overall a decent play. A multiplayer based shooter is always nice, but i don't want them to phom in the campaign then and have the campaign suck eggs like halo 3s did.something else to consider. In the pacific war. The sniper became one of the most feared things in the world. And the term spray and pray was born. How? Well after about a month in the pacific, the US had taken so many casualties from snipers in tree tops that before entering a forested area they'd call up their LMG holder, and he'd spray and pray the trees and it'd then literally rain bodies as hundreds of bodies fell from the tree tops.
