ww2 has been done to death....focus on new current battlefields with futurstic weapons...thats what made cod 4 so good....but as long as online is fun who really cares...

There was room to improve COD4, but not much.

Yeah, call of duty 4 wasn't just popular for it's crazy firefights it was popular because they brought it into the present and it rocked. Going back to crappy old weapons will probably make cry and ask god for some sort of fully atomatic sub-machine gun, or an accurate sniper rifle.

Absolutely, I thought they had finally gotten over their obsession with WWII but there they go again, right back into the trenches. COD4 was an excellent departure from the dead horse WWII genre so I can't really see why they would so something like that.

All I can say is that if they return the series to WWII I'll be highly disapointed... leave that crap to Medal of Honor

yeah im really tired of historic first person shooters. cod4 was amazing, i wish they could make just another modern game, or maybe even a slightly futuristic game. that would be more interesting than another historic. it could still be god though.

It's dumb, how many times can you kill germans with the same old guns? They should have kept it modern.

The COD5 being set back in WWII isn't going to be too bad. The makers will have some way to get more people to like it, like a surprise.

There's way too many ww2 games out there. They should have kept it modern or done something original with it.

I think it is a mistake and that COD 4 was alot better. I had wished COD 5 was a continuation of COD 4.

there has been way too many WW2 games in my opinion, same with vietnam games... HORRIBLE MISTAKE. COD4 had the best idea of story line out of all war games ive played (besides gears of war, that game is the best) they should make another game like that and i think alot of people would agree

WWII era is getting old, they made a modern warfareallready, personally I think they should make a WWI game to switch it up.

If they make a COD 5 that is modern like COD4, they lose COD4 revenue. The COD games for WWII made good money, but are starting to die. If I were in their shoes, a COD5 placed in the WWII era seems like a better idea and personally, I've always preferred cod2 to cod4.

I think it's a smart move on Treyarch (IW is working on 6 in the mean time) seeing as how it's something the studio is used to, that being WWII while still managing to move in a new direction because let's face it, the ratio between games about the Pacific front to those set in the European Theater is nuts. For every five Normandy's, there's one Okinawa.

i think it's a horrible idea.here's whythey peaked with cod:4, everyone liked the fact that it was MODERN warfare.now they're going back to their roots and i for one think it was a bad move.they should have either not made another game for another half year or so, or make another MODERN warfare game with different weapon sets/story line.and maybe fix some graphics bugs.anyone else have a pet peeve for companies that don't put enough effort into visuals??

I don't think CoD5 will be better than CoD4. CoD4 is perfect the way it is, the game is fun because of the fact it's modern, we don't want to play a CoD game where it was just like the first 3.

It has some new elements other versions didn't have and by that I mean now they have online coop but the whole wwII still bugs the crap out of me.... I haven't seen any TDM specifics but I don't think you can customize like you could in CoD4. P.S. if you run and gun in CoD4 your a moron :) (No names are being stated, don't come flaming me for no reason what so ever).

I still cry myself to sleep when i hear COD 5, i don't want another battlefield 2142. but then again i was skeptical when COD4 went modern, and i loved that game.

Worst. Decision. Ever. Never fear, though, CoD 6 is under production from infinity ward, and there are rumors that it is about the future! Rejoice!

I don't know exactly if WWII is such a great idea but off topic, I heard there were many rants on Halo Wars.
