I haven't played Harvest Moon itself, but I did get Rune Factory and Animal Crossing.I found I was kind of worried I wouldn't like Rune Factory when I got it, and I was really excited about Animal Crossing. Now that I've played both - the exact opposite is true! Animal Crossing bores me to pieces, but Rune Factory will addict me like crazy. In fact, I like Rune Factory so much I've been thinking of getting Harvest Moon DS Cute. Basically, my vote would be Harvest Moon. ^^

Animal Crossing FTW. I'm just saying that because I've never played Harvest Moon and I don't plan on it either.

i would pick animal crossing at the start its a bit boring but as you play it gets more and more fun because you can dress up play with other friends and really cool stuff. but harvest moon it starts fun and gets boring because you do the same thing over and over again, and it begins to be a chore like getting stuff upgradeing getting money sleep etc.

I would say that both are fun, but if you don't have a lot of time to play, go with Harvest Moon. In Animal Crossing, the clock never stops, which can be aggravating because you kind of have to check in every day. Sometimes if you don't want to miss someone visiting your house, you'll get stuck playing AC for an extra hour. On the DS, I don't think you can change the in game time ever once you set it the first time.Harvest Moon starts from where you saved so you can leave it alone for a month and not come back to a weedy unhappy town.

Animal Crossing is great for multiplayer but if you want a fun, adventurous game, get Rune Factory or fun, choose Harvest Moon.

Both games are extremely fun and entertaining but I prefer Harvest Moon over Animal Crossing. The main reason is the real-time aspect Animal Crossing has which forces you to pretty much play the game everyday in order to prevent your town from being overrun by weeds and your townspeople leaving. Harvest Moon allows you to pickup the game where you left off and doesn't require daily attention. For a casual gamer like me the no commitment environment Harvest Moon has is really appealing.

animal crossing. Harvest Moon is only fun until you get married in my opinion. Animal crossing always has something new. Plus, there's a new one coming out, so I would wait. Oh, and animal crossing, you can buy/design clothes, change your character, change your house, and go wifi
