I never got into animal crossing at all and I found there was very little to really aim for apart from running around talking to characters making funny sounds. Haven't ever played harvest moon on the DS but I played it for hours and hours on end on the GBA and found it very rewarding. It always seemed to come up with something new just as my interest was starting to wane unlike harvest moon where you fish to pay off your mortgage early on. It might just be I haven't given a good go but I felt it didn't nearly deserve the critical praise it got.

I like Harvest Moon, but I've only played the advance version. I want the DS version sooo bad. It's one of the most addicting game ever though, because there's so much to do in it.

I like both, but I prefer Harvest Moon over Animal Crossing. It's mainly because I feel that there's more to do daily in Harvest Moon. You can also skip days to fast forward to certain events by just sleeping in. The fact that Animal Crossing runs on real time is sort of annoying in that you can't just skip a season or a day. You can't decide to play in the middle of the night either since everything is closed.

I'd choose animal crossing since there is more to do at one time and is more fun. I have always liked animal crossing better.

You should get Harvest Moon because you can marry, have a child, have animals, have crops, sell, buy, and many more. In Animal Crossing Wild Worlds, the only good thing about it is that you can connect with other people.

i prefer animal crossing since it's more of a multiplayer game, and because it was made by nintendo.as for harvest moon, it never really appealed to me in any way....

I really like the original harvest moon, so this one has got to be a whole lot better.

As I write this, you've probably already purchased your game and have long since completed it.Since this is a DS thread, I'd have to go with Animal Crossing. I find that the DS Harvest Moonofferings really don't do it for me or the series justice. Animal Crossing was way more enjoyableon DS, but on every other platform I quite enjoy Harvest moon. On the Gamecube in particular,Magical Melody was miles and miles ahead of Animal Crossing in my opinion.

Harvest Moon was best on the gba but Rune Factory (which branched off from HM) is more enjoyable than Animal Crossing imo.Anyway, if you guys enjoyed either HM or AC, you should play Enchanted Folk and the School of Wizardry! Similar style but even better than Animal Crossing (of course it depends on your personal taste).

I've never played Harvest Moon myself, but I've heard a ridiculous amount of things from friends of mine who are absolutely addicted to the game. I've played all of the Animal Crossing games (that I know of) and it's a great experience if you're into a social environment. It really depends on the person; what kind of game you're looking for and what sort of experience you prefer.

I prefer Harvest Moon because you can do many activities instead of few like cooking and eating. It is funny because you can work as a farmer.I prefer Harvest Moon because you can do many activities instead of few like cooking and eating. I find it surprising how addictive harvest moon was for ds :)although i have to admit, some of them are repetitive. The game cube version got boring pretty quick but only because i knew that there were more features for the ds versions :)

I love Harvest Moon, but the only thing that I don't love is the controls. :) It's pretty neat though that your baby can be either gender now. XD

I think animal Crossing because the characters are sweeter, and the decorations are much more involved. Then again, this is expected from a nintendo game.
