Asking her would be a good idea unless you want it to be a surprise for her. It really depends of on the type of person. There aren't many gender specific games but there are a lot of universal games. Anything with Mario, Nintendogs, etc should be okay.

Just about any game is good. It really depends on her personality. Personally I like the Zelda, Harvest Moon and Phoenix Wright series although I do play other types of games. Nintendogs is good also!haha I just realized this topic was little over a year ago.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is probably a good choice. My fiance loves that game

Well, it depends. Not all girls like a girlie cutie games. If your girlfriend is a though gamer why not bought her a fighting or adventure type of game? But if she was patient type, I think you should buy her RPG type. As a girl I prefer this one, as well as many of my other girl gamer friends.Since I'm getting a NDS for my girlfriend, do you think there are games more suitable for girls? Any suggestion? Thank you folks
Maybe you should buy Harvest Moon or Sims? Most girl tends to love them

Most girls I know like pretty much the same games as I do- RPGs. I recommend you get her a decent RPG, like The World Ends With You, and see if she likes it. Then again, it could just be a coincidence that all the girls I'm friends with happen to like RPGs. Choose a game you think she'll like, and stick with it.

If she likes puzzle games, get The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass. Also it's the best game I have ever played!!!!

i wanna say cooking mama, but that sounds so stereotypical and almost cliche, so i will say super mario 64 DS; now that is a fun game =) not too complicated either if your girl is new to games in general, or just handhelds

I'm sure she'll like any game; most of us girls do. For example, one of my favorite games is Halo, although I also enjoy Cooking Mama and Harvest Moon. My favorite games of all time are defiantly those in the Zelda Series.

I'd say any game is good for girls as long as they like it...No game is specifically targeted to one side of gender unless it's really obvious like barbie or something like that...

Most girls that I know like Zelda as well (including me), or a puzzle/detective story game like Professor Layton may be a good catch (I think it's better and more complicated than the easy brain training). Tho I actually can't stand those raising pets games like Nintendogs.
