I am a chick and from my experience with all my chick friends who play a DS don't really have much of a different taste than the guys we know who play. Take her to a video game store and just kind of "look around" while taking notice if she pays attention or points out a specific game. Or get Animal Crossing. Everyone likes that game. :)

What a sexist topic. The girls I know play a variety of games. MOst of them more violent than anthing I play. But, what the heck. Get her Super Princess Peach and see how long it takes for her to dump you. You could always try a Mario Game, or Pokemon.

I would suggest a good rpg or strategy game. Not to be sexist but the girls that I know of dont like too many action games. Not to say she wont just speaking from my experiences. But hey why are you asking us you know her better! I would go on a site that lists a bunch of games and say you are buying one for yourself, but dunno which and ask for her opinion. Then get her that one! :o yup im pretty smoothe.

I agree with the other posters--you should really base your choice on things you know she likes. If she likes dogs and such, maybe you can get her Nintendogs? (I've never played it & i'm a girl--just never seemed very interesting to me) or if she likes crossword puzzles or sudoku puzzles, you can try those games... etc.Personally, I like (for the DS)* Puzzle games (like Sudoku and Picross)* Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness* Rune Factory Harvest Moon* Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass* Any Super Mario games (Mario & Luigi RPG, Mario Kart, Super Mario DS...)* Trauma Center* Big Brain Academy* Bomberman* Cooking Mama.... it goes on....

But yeah, ALL games are suitable for girls. I mean damn, their girls, not 5 year olds. Just ask her what she wants. Even if its a surprise, ask her.<----QuoteI agree, you can't think of girls as little kids, what do you think would happen if you gave her a dora the explorer game? you'd probably get slapped, then dumped. Anyways, you could probably get her .... Harvest moon, Mario Kart, maybe even an rpg like.. Magical Starsign.(edit) oops I messed up on the quote..

It really doesn't matter, I think girls can like some of the games guys do as long as they give it a try. Which means you should try introducing some of the DS's best games to her, like Phoenix Wright.

I think guys and girls play alot of the same games. I know my GF does not really like the cooking games or nintendogs, but I really enjoy playing them, and don't even get me started on Harvest Moon, that game is a lot of fun to just sit around and waste time on after a stress filled day of classes.

I think all games are suitable for either gender. More based on age rather then gender.

I like "girly" games as much as I do hardcore games, but then again im a very versatile gamerIf you mean "girly" such as a minority of a non girl gamer (i understand your not trying to be sexist) then i would go with something a little easy, cute, and fun. Low fustration. Something like a puzzle game. Not sure what the DS has in puzzle games, but I have been playing Girls Mode (a japanese game involving fashion) and its quite fun and easy. You sell clothes to customers and the fashion is quite current and intresting, MUCH more trendy than ANY american fashion game. But you can never go wrong with classics like Mario, Sonic (maybe not the new one for ds) and Mario Kart. Zelda is fun, but a little hard for a non gamer. Harvest Moon is addicting and fun, and Rune Factory 2 is quite easy and fun as well. Lovely Lisa and Hello Kitty in the big city (or something) are two new english games that are mini game based and fun, easy and fustration free. see how far she can get in contra 4. lol

I think that any and all games are suitable for anyone no mater what gender..a game is fun usually for everyone. If she's into games period, she'll like any good game.
