Nothing of the violent sort, games such as Nintendogs, Cooking Mama, maybe mario or maybe some puzzle/brain training games would be suitable.

well i agree to the fact that girls will play any game , just as us guys do. however like guys, they have their own tastes in games. some will not buy into the mindless 1st person shooter like halo or f.e.a.r. so dont be afraid to ask what type of game they like to play. just invite her around, play a few diffrent types of games and ask her what one she liked best, and base your buy on that.

I am a girl myself, and I should think games like the Harvest Moon series or the Sims games are nice... although I have to agree that I love to play other games too, like those that were always classified as games more suitable for guys. Harvest Moon games are always at the top of my favourites though, so I guess you should definitely consider that! =)

I definitely agree with all the posters who said that any game for guys can also be a game for girls. That kind of pigeonholing usually doesn't work out too well, and can be quite offensive to some people (I'm not taking offense, just saying).
