I was thinking of a pokemon game where you could be an actual trainer in the sense of like a Digimon Tamer like in the Digimon World series. Like a 3D character? Tell me what you guys think. Tell me any other ideas you guys have for other versions of Pokemon Games :)

News flash - Pokemon Platinum (November for Japan, April for US) does utilise 3D function of the DS in the torn world.I personally have problems with 3D due to a rare condition of the eyes known as strabismus - the eye muscles are terribly weakened, and the depth perception is cut down to about a third. I was even sceptical of RuSa's sprites.

i would want one that is made of pure contests and you travel from town to town catching pokemon and there are 8 contest halls, and if you get all there ribbons you can enter the grand festival. they should also add the point battling part of contests

i'm not exactly fed up, because i still like the 2D but it would be cool if it could go 3d, it just might get a little difficult to make it to the towns without bumping into trainers when your pokemon are all beat up. though i think the 2D battles would still be fun, unless it was like the pokemon stadium set up in 3D

It could take a good long while, but I think if nothing else they should give each pokemon their own attacks. Like specific animations to actually make the pokemon move over to the enemy and claw him or whatever, rather than having reused animations for everyone. It would be great to see charizard do flamethrower or something, rather than watching a fire stream shoot from his forhead because the game doesnt specify where the fire should be.

im not exactly bored of the same 2D game, and am looking forward to pokemon platinum too. but a 3d game wouldnt be bad either, although i dont think it is possible on the nds, maybe on the ps3 or xbox 360, they might make a pokemon game where you are a trainer and collect different pokemon and battle trainers and stuff, kind of like the gta series gameply....... or not :)

That's funny, I was actually talking about this on another thread just now. I am fed up and I would actually like it to be like Smash Bros Brawl where you have control of your pokemon and not just give commands to it. I know that will probably never happen, but a guy can dream, can't he?

They aren't going to abandon a system that works and sells games over and over and over. I think they would most likely try new idea's in spin-offs or one-offs of the main game series.

Yes man they should make a 3-D version for the next pokemon game... it's about time they did that anyways.... Like make it like battle revolution.... and why not make it for the wii? Wii can do more stuff online anyways.

I think one of the good things about Pokemon is the fact that it's constant. If it changed too much, it wouldn't be the same.

i'm getting used to visual novel-esque games thanks to phoenix wright and the like. so i'm kinda hoping anime style portraits instead of those cheesy sprites come into the next installment.

i voted yes, but i dont mind the 2D game although...it would be cool if it was like a 3d game where you can bring out your pokemon and you go around and when a pokemon comes near your pokemon starts attacking it (you can choose the attack) and you can capture by aiming etc. :Dthe 2D one is kind of repetitive its basically the same (pokemon red=pokemon diamond) no difference
