Personally, I think Swordmasters out-run Assassins. If you look at each others stats, they're alike, however, Swordmasters (like Marisa) generally have luck. Luck is that one stat that drops your opponents critical rate. Now, if you gave an Assassin a Killing Edge (30 + crit) and a Swordmaster the same thing and both would have 30 Luck, generally, the Swordmaster would still have about 34 critical rate while the Assassin has about a 10-15, making their critical a 10-15% chance of working, let alone a one-hit kill to activate after the critical has activated.

I would now probably choose the assassins. They simply rock, and I simply l\adore the one-hit critical kill.

Swordmasters becuse I always found criticals more reliable than that ability of asassins

AssassinsThe swordmasters weakness has always been high defenses and (to a much lesser extent) huge HP. The assassin ignores both of those.Besides, assassins have cooler looking animations.

Both units do nothing to tanks or strong units with a hoplon guard or equivalent. I prefer the all rounder Hero, they have two weapon capabilities and good equal stats.

I'll go with Swordsmasters.I am a fan of thieves, but I can't ignore great damage dealing potential. And swordsmaster do just that, they kill almost everything they fight. And that's all I'm gonna ask of them.

I like swordmasters.Swordmasters get the awesome critical bonuses along with more hp and a higher kill rate.

.But yeah, swordmasters beat the crap out of assassins.Assassin + Killing Edge = 10% chance of OHKOSwordmaster + Killing Edge = 80% chance of dealing massive damage.I don't like to take chances.

overall swordmasters are more effective since their caps for speed and strength are very high, and their defense is nothing too shabby either

That's true. Although I prefer to have one of every type, the swordmaster's critical bonus is amazing, although they take a lot more work than assassins, i feel like.
