Both are some of the coolest units in the game, but I think assassins have the one up just because of their silencer skill. They can get you out of some deep trouble. Swordmaster got the critical, but it's not enough to make up for the lack of a skill. At least, in my opinion.

This is a classic debate. I personally love the swordmaster due to stats. I like the fact that assassins can do a kill strike but thats all in luck.

I prefer Swordsmasters. Even if they do not get that critical, they can still do good damage. Assassins pretty much rely on it.
All those pizza, "two for one" deals are really from the government to fatten you up, then when you're too obese to do anything they ship you off to the Red Cross where they rip out your liver and turn it into pepperoni to start the process all over again.

Swordmasters are preferably one of the best classes I have ever seen.Guy for me in FE7 came out with amazing stats, maxing his Str, Skill, and Spd out and nearly maxed out other stats. Now Marisa for FE8 did similar fashion, but no where near as Guy did. But she had the silencer.Pretty much, both are good. It's how you use them, and the RNG.

assassin!!!!! they are better than swordsmaster!!!!!!!with their silencer nothin can stop em!in fe8 I used to have joshua, marisa and colm as assassins they are uberpwners

Yeah, fire emblem is all. I'd say assassins, swordmasters are slow, decent crit and low hp..

Definitely swordmasters, if only because their critical hit animation is chock full of amazing.

Swordmasters have more technique. They would be a better fight than assassins. Assassins just kill, swordmasters fight and protect
