im pretty sure they could, because if you ever played the final fantasy games that were on DS, the quality on those cutscenes were good enough that a simple tv episode or something should work on a DS cartridge provided theres not a game. i watch vids in walmart all the time for game trailers so a cartridge should support some video file because the DS can download onto its own hard drive system those trailers even if its only temporary files.

It's definitely possible with the R4DS, but if you don't have it, go join a DS game making company and make a DS movie yourself. Otherwise, there's no other known method.

Yes, movies can be put on DS Flash Cartridges such as R4DS.You just require a few programs here and there to change the format of the video, and then you can put it in your R4DS, voila, done. For more information on doing that, I suggest you search up some vids on YouTube, some have good instructions, some are just awkward and don't help much.

Well, we DO have a guide on doing so: [FLASHCART] Converting videos for MoonshellAnd anyways, your not really putting it on the DS Card when using an R4 or other flashcart, your putting it on the MicroSD card or whatever. As for an actual game card, probably. I mean, they were able to do it for GBA right?

Putting an actual full length movie on a NDS carriage is impractical. The largest cart size that I know of is 128mb and even with the NDS's small screen size the compression of information would be to much for the NDS to handle without skipping. So to answer your original question theoretically its possible but, who would want to watch a small screen movie with low bitrates?

DS cartridges as in a flashcart, yea. The only one that I know of that can play movies is r4ds. As for on a regular DS cartridge I'd assume so since they did it with GBA cartridges.

they definitely wont be making official movies on cartridges because PSP's umd movies failed and they were nearly HD!! plus they were like miniature dvd's with menus, whatever the nds cartridge can hold, it wont be as good as umd's and would flop. you can however convert movies to R4 format (i have done it) and it is absolutely rubbish! its a complete waste of time, the quality is appaling, and the framerate is annoying. i dont recommend it...but for psp however...thats another story.

hey, they did it for the GBA then it is possible for the DS, no question. The quality of video on the GBA was pretty bad but still better than nothing.

You can put movies on flash carts, but it's rather impractical. Movie files are just massive, and after you plop one or two movies onto a microSD card, you'll only have room for a couple more games.

I guess so. They did something like that for GBA a while ago. But then, DS has a browser, so you could just go to YouTube.

I don't think so. There isn't enough space on the cartridges to hold all the information of a full length movie.

Why not I say. Tv shows used to be put on GBA cartridges and sold, two or three of them at once. It could very well be possible to place a movie on a higher campacity DS cartridge. (DS cartrides can vary from 512 MB to 2GB from my knowledge. Average TV show is arouns 188-300 MB. Average movie around...1 to 2 GB.

Well lately i've just seen Shai posting alot of topics. Anyone going to warn him or is that ok? Topic spamming with just a few titles is really lame. I mean why would you do that? Just for some ROMS? Or just for some cool stuff in the gp store?
