I prefer single battles..I usually change the options so that I'm not offered to shift pokemon when my opponent's faints.I find it more fun and challenging that way. x/

Wow I didn't relize this thread had gone so far, I thought it had died off a long time ago. Anyway it's cool to see a lot of people share my taste in battles. I thought for sure most would say they prefer single battles. As for Pokemon Contest I'm not surprised it didn't do well but I still like them too because they give unevolved Pokemon some kind of Value outside of the battles which are dominated by their fully eveolved counter parts. Like my Pichu, It's my favorite Pokemon I bred it and it has amazing IVs, an Ice Hidden Power and is well EV trained but it's still hard to win battles with it since it goes down in one hit. However in Pokemon Contest it can really shine. I hope in future game they flesh out conteast a lot more so that all my favorite unevolved Pokemon have some real value instead of me wasting my time training them up to be mediore battlers at best.

I kind of prefer Pokemon Contests towards battles.Maybe thats because I can never seem to win in any tournaments!!Pokemon contests are more easier to win with because of the newdance system in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and also the newdress up system. The only problem I have with contests is that you would have to go out of your way to get really good items for your pokemon to dress up in, and sometimesit can be a bother. There's a shop in one of the towns that sells flowers and you can trade so many hundreds of berries for really good contest items. It takes a long time to get the berries you need though!!

I like single because it's a true test of skill: one on one. Plus, it's the classic way to go.

I prefer single battles because double battles are too much effort to coordinate (b/c I'm impatient and want to get the battle over with). I just want to crush my opponents swiftly and move on in the game.

In my opinion the best battles are player vs player. The NPC's are so easy to beat. Against a player you must adept your playstyle to each other. There is so much more you can do in a double battle, but they're still kind of rare in the handheld pokemon games, but fortunatly there were a lot more in Diamond and Pearl than in Ruby and Sapphire. I know Pokemon Contest are not really battles but they still are a form of Pokemon Competition so I thought it would be okay to add them as well.

I'm more used to the old-fashioned single battleas although the double battles have a little bit more challenge!

I prefer singles...Doubles is an interesting idea... Just for the fact that some moves are global and can kill your allies as well... (trying to make pairs for a possible team match if it comes to it)

Yeah, I love the Tyranitar + Garchomp; Mammoswine + Abomasnow, Toxicroak + Swampert, and plethora of other beneficial combos. Also, double battles tend to be faster.i like doubles... there a bit more tactical

I don't really have a preference but I'd have to say single battle are fun. But double battles are good for levling.

i prefer single battles because in double battles you cant use moves like sandstorm and earthquake unless they arnt effected by it

double battles are better because there more variety in them and theres chances to use awesome combos.
