Nobuo Uematsu has done a great work for the Final Fantasy series! I love "Victory Fanfare", which is played after every victorious battle!

Aww yeah, I love video game music. Especially music from Super Nintendo RPGs, like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy II, et cetera.

Yup sign me up for video game music. I usually listen to Kohina stream at work and really often get struck by some really gem tune. It is amazing to hear how good the music actually is. Despite the hardware restriction in these simple machines, such as NES, GBA, SMS, C64. Simple in todays standards of course :facepalm:One these amazing songs that got stuck in my head this week is Armageddon Man for C64. Just check the orhestre version of it: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dlr2vY2KzpM Would be nice one day to go and see(listen) one those gaming tune orchestrated versions in real life.

The original Supermario is awesone, but i have a feeling for the Jak and Daxter games' tracks. And i can't get the Yugioh: Duelist's of the Roses out of my head. The Red Rose side. Also, i enjoy Pokemon Yellow music. It has that childlike innocence i use to have.

Like so many others, I have always liked Nobuo Uematsu's music. But I also really like the BGM that Ben Houge (sp?) composed for Arcanum. Very unusual instrumentation for a game soundtrack - just a string quartet - but it's ace. :PWhen I was a kid I thought the Mega Man 2 soundtrack was awesome, for some reason, but nowadays Final Fantasy X is my favourite game when it comes to good music.Oh, by the way, I kind of think the soundtracks to the old Dragon Ball SNES games have nice and fat basslines (...that cut through the mix, but whatever).

I love video game music. In fact, video games got me into music in the first place. Need For Speed Underground has my favorite non-original soundtrack, and that game sparked my interest in music. Midnight Club II, XG3 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 have awesome soundtracks, tooAs for original music, my interests are all over the place. Chrono Trigger's soundtrack is one of the finest I've heard. In fact, as good as FFVII's music is, I prefer Yasunori Mitsuda's work over Nobuo Uematsu's. From Tyran Castle to Schala's Theme, every track fits all too well to the various themes of the story as if the music was put together by magicEric Brosius did great work on System Shock 2. He created an eerie overture for the lone soldier's adventure on the tainted Von Braun, and the spot-on sound effects came together with the soundtrack to make System Shock 2 one of the scariest games ever made. Also, I literally bobbed my head to the fast drum and bass while I blasted Hybrids in the Fluidic Tunnels (AudioSurf "Engineering." It's AWESOME)Sometimes I wonder if Half-Life 2's soundtrack was somehow inspired by System Shock 2. The soundtrack had an "old school" feel, so the game sounded less like Gears of War and more like Super Metroid; instead of using an orchestral soundtrack, Half-Life 2 had minimalist ambient and techno tracks. It suited the highs and lows of Half-Life 2's sporadic-yet-fluid pacing. In my opinion, Episode 2 had the best music (AudioSurf this, too)Mega Man X. Where do I begin? The game was based on a simple concept: kill eight bosses, take their powers, and use them against their ringleader, Sigma. This simple concept was matched with simple music; the soundtrack is hardly elaborate, it's merely a set of looping techno-rock melodies that can be easily mistaken for a generic ringtone to video game illiterates. What made this one special is that the songs were infectious. Everyone remembers the jingles that played during their ascent to Boomer Kuwanger and the mellow beat that was in Chill Penguin's stage. And who could forget their encounter with Sigma and his laser sword? (That just has to be one of the best boss battle tracks ever made) The fast-paced, catchy techno-rock was a perfect fit for the X-Buster and made dash-jumping and shooting robots a very enjoyable experienceKOTOR. Both of them. Awesome. The music in Star Wars always had a distinct sound, a type of sound that makes it stand out. This intangible aura can be compared to that of the Halo Theme (a great song wasted on a subpar shooter series); most people will immediately know that it's Halo, it's Star Wars. KOTOR's music remained faithful to the canon by preserving the distinct Star Wars sound decades after the worldwide phenomenon debuted in theatersKoji Kondo and Hajime Wakai never disappoint. Kondo's legacy is known by all: Zelda, Star Fox, Super Mario Bros., even Duck Hunt! He made the classic game sounds we know by heart, like "Zelda's Theme," "Super Mario Bros.," "Starman," "Corneria," the list could go for pages. Also, he is very versatile: Mario games have vibrant and energetic music (especially Super Mario World), Zelda has an epic, theatrical feel, and Star Fox is outright unorthodox, suiting to its unorthodox concept that involves space animals. Koji Kondo is a name that will not be soon forgotten as he is a well-established icon in video games. As for the lesser-known Wakai, he also worked on the awesomeness that is Star Fox 64, but he also composed music for Pokemon Stadium 2. I enjoyed his remixes of the familiar music from the beloved handheld game. There was also a bit of original work in there, too; he turned a school bell chime into a song for Earl's Academy

I do listen to them, but not as often since it does get annoying if it cycles over and over and over and over and over... But I do love re-orchestrations, remixes and the like.

I love video game music. The Final Fantasy/Kingdom Heart series, to me, has the best music. Also, I'd like to throw the Metroid series out there as well, for that series has done well to keep the in-game music related to the mood of each individual game, which is great in my book. Let's not forget the classics, like Sonic and Mario.

I love the Halo music, all of it is awesome

I agree with Ryan. Halo music is great. It keeps you on the edge of your seat when playing the games, but at the same time allows you to enjoy the game without getting too excited.

I love all the Japanese songs for almost every game. I'm even stating to catch on to the language...does that mean I listen to them too often?:(

NintendoThey are absolute masters at making beautiful ingame music. From Super Smash Bros. to Pokemon to Zelda, almost all their games have amazing tracks that are well orchestrated, catchy, and downright amazing.Capcom I love their Mega Man themes as well as their retro Disney game themes as well.SegaClassic Sonic themes rock! But honestly, I haven't exposed myself to music outside these companies. Maybe I could go for some Square themes since those are extremely popular.

i love game music, especially from legend of zelda, ocarina of time. fire emblem is also enjoyable, as is pokemon, to some extent. the regular trainer music from first generation is awesome. i got so addicted to these games that i would imagine it playing even when there was noone around. the only thing thats kind of annoying about all this music is that it plays in a loop forever, with no end, so it does get annoying after awhile.

I think game music is awesome and it should totally distinguish itself as a genre. I carry close to 600 songs in my music player and more than half of them don't even have singing. It's all gaming music.
