I think it looks pretty neat. I didn't like the sound of it at first but I'll definitely be trying it out with an open mind.Am I the only person who's heard about or who cares about the new dashboard? It was announced at E3 and was talked about at least in game informer... It's supposed to look like the itunes interface.

No. It is just another user-friendly crock that is a waste of time. The regular dashboard has all the information you need without anything (like idiotic avatars) to get in the way. It is simple, easy to use, and it looks just fine. There is no reason to make a drastic change just so everyone can feel like they know what they are doing. If the "casual" gamer can't get along without a Mii and the regular dashboard, then they are obviously too ridiculously stupid to use any system other than the Wii, which they probably already have.

it seems like it's trying to create a better social networking-ish interface. The current dashboard is fine for me. i'm split, so i'll just have to wait and see

I like being able to party up with other people in different games, the avatars will be quite annoying though.

the only reason Microsoft did this was to expand there audience. By that i mean that they did it for nongamers, people who need to visually learn a new system. Someone who never played before on the old dashboard may not have been able to figure out how to start a game, whereas on the new dashboard it has a big picture for you. I will deal with it but i like the old dash better.

The best part about the new dashboard is that they let you download portions of the game disc to the HD which protects and extends the life of your system. They stole this idea from the PS3 which is definitely one of Microsoft's better decisions.
