Earthbound is great but there might never be a new version now since hardly anyone knows about the original games these days so they wouldn't buy it

Yeah, best news i've had in a while! Earthbound on the SNES rightfully earned its place as one of the best RPGs. Can't wait for the new GBA one.

for those of you who are fans of the earthbound (mother) series, www.starmen.net has alot of info involving all the games includeing SSB and SSBM. There was an annoucment that they will be releasing a Mother 3 in jap, but will that ever make it over to US shores is a good question. Mother 1 &2 was released over in jap, but we have yet, and I doubt we will see it here.

Earthbound was a brilliantly written game. Instead of adding in another fantasy story to a market saturated with elves and magic spells and evil empires, the decided to make it start a kid in the suburbs, who uses a baseball bat instead of a sword. And he quested all over the planet to find key places that weren't meant to seal some great evil, but to remind him of his own memories and psychic power. The game was eccentric, and focused more on the road less traveled by. I feel it was a whole lot more heartfelt and lovingly put together than most RPGs today, even if the graphics were terrible, even for their own time. To this very day, Magicant in the game still strikes me as one of the most powerful moments of gaming to me.If they make a brand new Earthbound game, I would pay a king's ransom for it.

Lol iv started playing Earthbound again. Awesome game. The best part has to be the often hilarious and sometimes completely random dialogue. My favourite is pokeys dad, he says something to Ness like "Can you please leave now, I'm sick of your family living next to us"

I feel like the 3rd one was the last one. It wrapped up the story pretty well I thought. If they were to ever make another one, I would think that it would have to have a new storyline at what-not.

For the sake of the series I hope not, it should end on 3 because after 3 so much has been touched on that anything further will just be pretty blatantly trying to milk the series' name. It's not like final fantasy where the games are only ever loosely related to eachother so it can go on ad infinitum without stepping on it's own toes.
