Has your Xbox 360 ever thrown up the infamous hardware defects that drove may away from the Xbox 360? Namely, the Red Ring of Death (three red lights error) and the Disc Scratch? (massive circular scratch on the disc, rendering it unreadable).I haven't had it happen to me yet, thank goodness, but my second cousin has.

Oh boy, that Red Ring of Death was an absolute nightmare. I had just gotten Call of Duty 4 and it went red, I would come to school and hear my friends telling wonderfull stories about the game and how it was fantastic online, all while my console was somewhere getting fixed. It stunk. It was a decent turn around though, it only took them about 2 and 1/2 weeks to fix mine, plus I got some more xbox live out of the deal.

i've never had the RROD even though my XBox was bought via eBay. Lucky me. However, i have tried moving the xbox while i was playing, which led to a huge scratch on my halo disc. It still works, but seomtimes it says that the Xbox will not play my DVD even though its clearly a game disc.

also sometime you can wrap your xbox in a towel then turn it on, flip the consol upside down and it may melt the stuff back in place from where it was before the ring of death

I got the RROD a couple of months ago and it SUCKED! I was playing Rock Band and then my system froze on me. I turned it off and then turned it back on and there it was. It absolutely shocked me. However, I got the system back in about 2 weeks which wasn't so terrible. I pray it never, EVER, happens again.

I've had both happen, and it sucked both times. Lucky for me I payed that little extra for the Best-Buy electronics warrenty, and was able to get a new X-Box 360 but also the game it shreded, which I think caused the red ring in the first place. There I was, happly enjoying a gore-fest of PWN in G.O.W, and my cat leaps though the cabinet where I keep my 360 and this god-awful grinding sound starts comeing from it. I dashed over and unplugged it, turned it back on, and my disk was destroyed and, 'DU-DU-DU-DUHHHHH!' there was the RROD.

yes it got RROD. since then, I have hardly played xbox even after I got it back- I was playing alot before that, and then my skills rusted and Live was no fun. And I found other stuff to do, but Im not sure if I can say it without getting modded for advertising or something.

I got the RRoD on my first xbox 360 - sent it in, got it fixed, etc. The second one got it too after a while, but I just left it alone for a day and it turned out okay - the same thing happened again a couple months ago.I've never had a problem with the 360 scratching my discs, though. But then again, I'm not dumb enough to pick up the system while in the middle of a game and shake it around like an epileptic having a seizure.

I've had my 360 for a couple of years now. I bought it used and never had a problem. I popped in Gears and got freezing graphics and then the RROD. I just took it apart and had it fixed in no time. I've been playing it at least five or six hours a day for the past couple of weeks since the repair. Hopefully it will last until I can buy a new one and take advantage of the price drop.

i got rrod, havent fixed it yet since i've got exams anyway. its a hassle to bring it down for servicing, but since it isnt modded and the warranty for rrod is valid for 3 years, i suppose i would live with it.different x360s are supposed to have different rrod rates. go google 'falcon motherboard'

Ive actually hade both of em, Well The first time i got them, I found out a way to repair them using the x-clamp fix, I did the artic 5 thermal paste fix with the xclamp fix and it fixed the rrod problem, I recommend buying the talismoon fan makes the system ice cold, and for teh scratches, I ended up realighing the tray which is a simple process but requires you to open up the system
