To downgrade your PSP, google it. And I still love my PSP. I play it 2 hours a day.

holy smokes!!!i LOVE LOVE LOVE my psp now.i 'pimped' my psp, all the way down to 1.5for sure google it.and WHAM! it is macked out now. in fact, im thinking of snagging another one, so i can have a backup, because right now, this thing is PACKED.i have everything and the kitchen sink up on there. and because you load stuff from a memory stick, the batteries last a lot longer.get down to 1.5 and prepare to have the ultimate portable gaming device. no joke.

And a good memory card equals the price of a PSP system itself

Erm, you can buy a 2GB memory stick off Amazon for 60 bucks or so. :P You bought your PSP for a bit over $120???!?! What a steal. :DAnyway, I LOOVE LOOVE LOOVE that thing. The games I bought (and have now sold) were craptacular, but homebrew is AMAZING. I'll never tire of it. I just need to upgrade from 256MB to 2GB (much like my computer....pity).

you guys bought UMDs?!??! man, they're so overpriced. they rival the prices of dvds of the same movie. why would you pay more for a lower quality product that's limited to the tiny psp screen?... it defies all logic.

psp isn't the best because the games aren't that hot. i would recomend the DS because the games are awesome like, starfox, mario, advance wars, metroid, castelvania, bleach. also the PSP lags alot and the loading times are extremly long. some people think that DS doesn't have a web browser but it does. you have to buy it. the browser costs around 50 dollars.

DS dosn't have as many top rated games as PSP at the moment, alot of people seem to think it does but it dosn't. DS is far ahead in console sales because it is considered a family system and little kids are a big market in the gaming industry.

well this depends on how you look at things ... emulation wise the psp owns but the fact that little kids + breaking things easily + expensive breakable item = NOOOOO

The PSP, for the most part, is nothing more than a down-sized and down-graded PS2. Alot of its supposedly good games are ports. I say supposedly because often times that isn't the case. The real problem with the PSP is the fact that you can get a better gaming experience on a system you already own at home. SOCOM, well I've got that at home. Burnout, same there. And another problem is that many of the original games fall short of greatness for one reason or another. Also, the lack of that second analog nub really (and I mean REALLY) hurt their system.Don't get me wrong, I think it is a good system, and the competition it is providing will no doubt advance the industry, but there are just so many issues with it otherwise they are hard to overlook. That being said, I am totally psyched for MGS:Portable Ops. It looks awesome.
