Indeed PSP is really nice to emualte otehr things, thinking while tehre are not games for PSP ..is the best thing you can do, also to work as paper holder, dust collector, enlarge tiny pockets... I bet the GPS could coem hadny to help you rememebr why you are outside carrying extra batteries on your pack tol hold the PSP alive while trying to find an adress is more, could be more easy jsut to make a phone call. They should release the PSP bag extra packs ( similar to the flee- I -pod version ) :D ,w ith space to hold all teh anti usability issues they got to increase sale hcarts on PSP <3 . Kidding, when PSP reach $ 140 I am getting to play some neo geo roms.

I think the PSP is the greatest handheld EVER. Playing games, listening to music, watching videos...What else more could you want?

I Own the PSP and the DS Lite, I would say that i'm a little disappointed with the PSP, it doesn't provide the things I would like it to do. The games feels like carrying a PS2 around, I'm far better off playing with my PS2 at home. DS on the other hand offers great entertainment and relaxation, and that's why I like the DS better. I see no point of watching a movie on the PSP, how lame, all I do on the PSP now is just listen to music that's all.

Gotta say, I've got the ds and the PSP, and the DS, whilst having some fun pick-up-and-play games, is inferior to the PSP simlpy decause of the lack of versatility. Also, not being 5 years old, the controls are too small and cumbersome. Playing Mario Kart for longer than 10 mins causes physical pain.I think a lot of people put too much into the novelty value of the touch screen. Yeah it's interesting and yeah it's technologically cool, but can you honestly say playing mario using the touch screen as an analogue control is better than the stick on the psp? Until a decent RTS or soemthing that requires a control method similar to a mouse comes on the DS, there's simply no practical use for the touch-screen.With regards to the gameplay arguement, look back at most consoles. It takes 1-2 years to get a decent library of software. Anything that gets released on lauch is generally rushed or a rehash of an old game, coupled with a developers inexperience with the new hardware./rant

I like my PSP. It's white XDYou can play all sorts of Games like PSX games too if you can figure out the kinks to get it to do that. The graphics is really nice, but I got it as a gift so I have no reason to regret having it.Although I can play all the games, I can't watch USA encoded UMD dvd's :/Oh well :P

true, DS has touch screen and since I got my Supercard I have been more open to DS...I was lucky to get that since I dont have a credit card, so w/o dat I could t play "free" games on my DS like on PSP, but since i got that "free" games have been easier since ISOs take more space than roms..

PSP is dying a loooog dead, is not a new "gameboy", is a like someone said the 8th wonder of handheld technology without the games ( could be great if released 2 eyars before than DS...but...) ...and the term "versatility" shouldn't never be used with PSP, since doesn't offfer more "versatility" than DS ( web on PSP? kidding right? MP3 player?give me a break who watns a brick on their pocetks to play MP3 when tiny device are much much more confortable ?)...., is just a pump-it-on graphics... a film with better special FX is not a better film, like a handheld with better graphcis is not a better handheld for that reason only :) , sure those commetns are hard to an under-aged public to udnerstand, to the people that consider "spiderman", 'starwrs" and "happy feet" the best movies of their life, no case trying to argue about "has batter graphics so is better handheld". Long way ..is a long way.. BTW PSP is already on its second year and still no good game library, I doubt with 3 years will have soemthing, the climax was the first year, when companies still tried to release NEW games on PSP, ohhhh they still tried to push it up with MGS series, and sport game,s but doesn't solve the lack of appealing ( more than the graphics ) on PSP. Anyone remeber "UMD" movies..uh? Yes, hsitory books says PSP format the good dead UMD was to release protable movies :) anotehr dead formtat added to Sony's failure . DS is winning so far on a broad range of ages and tastes , and so far that even Sony is worried how they can make the support to PSPgo down smooth and scretly without causing a fuzz... share are going down to PSP, is living on the red for a long time , even heads rolled out on Sony because low sales rates of PSP, still Sony plans to deliver more peripheral to PSP to try to catch some attention, like the useless GPS system... still is not good. Maybe a cut on 50% on the price could be good ( difficult ), it could make it competitive, considering the lack on interface. A pen and a touch screen are all about interface. DS won by ultimate combo. End of history. Still, some children still can claim PSP has better graphics, and believe , DS comunnity is ok with it. A small note: PS3 won't increase PSP sales... B)

@ Azariel Z :But the PS3 wasn't meant to increase the PSP sales, was it? Anyway, to you it might feel like some brick in your pocket, but I still think that it's an all in one, and it's good. Take for example, what you said : There are better and smaller devices for playing MP3s and let's say videos. If you just want to listen to music, then you should get something like the IPod. But if videos? The IPod video has a small screen that will render some people blind. IPods are only good for music. Not games and videos. Gamers go for the PSP. Music listeners, the IPod.About the GPS system, that is only used for MGS : PO, isn't it? If they're trying to use it for other stuff, then it would be much better. Now, into the pricing. I must admit that for a PSP you pay a high price for it, but it is worth it.In conclusion to this debate, it's really up to one's self whether it is a good buy or not. For me it is a yes. For you it might be a no. End of story.

@ MPG : But can't you just compress the ISOs into CSOs? They really reduce the ISO size without even making a slightest change to the gameplay.

The "all in one" is really a misleading concept, neither PSP and NDS were destined to fullfill other than game system properties. whatever add on, other than Wifi to multiplayer is not worth to be metioned, like NDS is a good leanign tool, for example to homebrew ( or legal software) to help learn Kanji , Thai or Korean , nice because the interface helps a lot ( and its essential ), or reading books, comic books, play MP3, etc on both. The main purpose of the machine, NDS and PSP, is to play THEIR stuff.. and that is something PSP IS lacking, for a long time, other than "homebrew " ( understand emulators, only ) there are not enough games and wide range of them, while there are many if not all ports. As a Mp3 players both are failures, compared with other devices. Internet Browser, just if you like and have a looooooot of time to spend ..browsing with those interfaces, while PSP is awfully akwards, NDS can still emulate a mouse, but lacks screen space. I would say Homebrew , as homebrew, REALLY new thigns NDS is way much more supported, since the HB games out there, aplications , etc are out numbering PSP's by far ( otehr than Emualtors on msot cases..what PSP homebrew are we talking about? ). Again interface calls for it, But is not the point ( I don't use HB more than moonshell a little ) So people could post here how they like to browse internet with their device and if it is practical on any ways, also which kind of "hombrew" are they supporting ( except emulators please.... :gay2: ) The case is, as a handheld PSP failed very ugly, not because the trademark but because how the hardware was originated on an outdated concept of "make it big" instead of " make it functional" ( compared to NDS ) based on an already dead-on-start format . And I am not talking about taste here, I am talking about on a marketing approach. The concept could have been nice, but NDS has an appeal much more wide and offers much more possibilities, with its interface/ While PSP wanted , really to make the Gameboy concept go down, proved that ingenuity and creativity can call for far more than hardware power Well, about the PS3 comment, was just to mention how Sony wanted to marketing the "connectivity with Ps3 on PSP. Well, anyway, i think sale charts speak by themselves.

The PSP actually isn't doing TOO badly. Well, compared to the DS it is. But if we're going to do comparisons, it should be noted that it has already outsold the original X-Box. Perhaps not as successful as Sony would have liked, but certainly enough to justify looking into developing a PSP2.As for my opinion on the device, I love it and play games for 5 different systems on it (including GBA). No other gaming console (and no, the PC is not a console system) can play more than one. So it looks to me like I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck.

Does OE play CSOs?? I tired to remove padding w/ UMD Gen but it always corrupts them!...
