PSP is an awesome handheld ... but most of the decent games i've already played to my heart's content on ps2. So unless i'm waiting for the bus (and I have a car) or on a plane or on a roadtrip, there isn't much use for it. Don't get me wrong, it's a sweet piece of work. I'm just waiting for the games. Whats with MGAcid? ~ weak~ too many sports games.Likewise, the DS doesn't have many great games out yet, only Mario 64 and the underrated, overlooked, not understood by Americans, Puyo Pop Fever. Greatest puzzle game ever, hands down. Of course it's thoroughly appreciated in Japan, but it's too much brainwork for us americans. For the DS, I'm waiting for more 1st person shooters, because that's where the 2nd screen kicks donkey; it's like using a mouse. Both handhelds lack to utilize its full potential. PSP needs to be more creative. DS needs to make more games for the 10 yrs+ category.btw, PSP specific dvds? what a scam. buy a portable dvd player and burn all the movies you want.I have an mp3 player for music.Might as well add a phone to it.and a cheese grater and a back massager too since we're compacting it into one device.

I just got a PSP a couple weeks ago and i have to say it is the most beautiful handheld system that i have ever seen. I feel rather sorry for nintendo having to compete with the PSP. The current selection of games is nothing special but the graphics for the PSP are just amazing. I never expected to see such awesome graphics on a handheld system. If you want to play the games i'd recommend waiting a few monthes for some more to come out before you buy a PSP but it is something you will want to at least try sometime soon.

My brother have bought a psp a week ago. We live in Europe, so he bought one second handed. Value pack (JAP) with the Jap. Manual  So first we didnt understand anything of it. But when we started it... wow. A nice menu, in our language, looks lovely. Nintendo fans would say (Ow I am still a GBA fan anyway) " What you need a menu for? " but I'd say it's just an extra. The buttons on the PSP look nicely and the screen is big... very big. I always played on my gba, and when you see this screen its just like: "you play games on your 14" monitor all day and this would be the first time you play on a 21" monitor. " BIG. The Games are mostly sport and racing, but I saw some great RPG's are commin' . I might even buy one when it comes to Europe :D

"i heard that there aren't any good games out for it yet..true or what?"thats really a matter of opinion, some people will like the current line up of games others wont however in most cases i believe there will be at least 1 or 2 games people will like.

Let me explain...See the original ideal purpose of a handheld was to have portability and fun for a cheap price. I mean you could buy a game with some pocket change and have tons of fun :D ...But the PSP just takes that away. It's portable fun for the price of a game for a newer console such as XBOX...I mean seriously. I don't know how I could explain what I'm trying to say any better but if you know what I mean then creamy cheese puffs and butter my nut sack. ANYWAYS...Yeaaaah the PSP is just....yeah...The only thing its good for is to put porn on it. I took my friends PSP and I put picutres of gary Coleman and David Hasslehoff on it then his dad found it and thought he was gay XD. ;) BUT ANYWAYS! I'm done. so hiddy hiddy hoe my loves. ---X

[ the modders post ]hey psp fans i'm a modder thats recently bought a new psp and for those of you out there that have one, i'll tell you a couple trix that you can do.so far upon getting mi psp i've been making sum serious mods to it, so far on a 32 mb card i've managed to fit 15 games, 5 music files, 2 music videos, and 2 photos.i got my music files to about 2 mb each without the loss of quality, and my music videos are 5-7mb without loss of quality either. for my music files, i got a creative sb audigy2 zs, which has hardware encoding on it, so you can recode your mp3's into smaller ones. creative has some pretty half decent software for it now that it's been out for some time.as for the video files, use psp video 9, to put videos on it, and the best compression settings i've got can make the vids 5-7mb each.photos have been resized to hmm less than 50k each........you can use photoshop jpeg compressor for it for better results and smaller filesize.....as for the games, i've loaded a snes emulator known as y31 of snes9x and zipped 15 games onto the psp. i haven't bought any game for the psps besides wipeout pure, cause hey theres a browser hack or so i've heard per se.....here are my games:super mario 1,2,3, WORLD, lost levels chrono triggermega man x, x2, x3final fight 1,2,3contra 3street fighter 2 alphaand the classic bust a move ;)you can technically mod your psp's battery for added performance. i played 6 - 7 hours straight on mine using the mem stix and 4 hours using a umd. every lithium ion cell has a smart chip on it that reports the cells capacity. So what you do is initially charge a li-on cell to full once you get it, and after that let it drain only to 40% then do a FULL recharge. This for you chemistry ppl is called priming a battery :D Do this for 30 days, then drain the battery to 20% then to zero to reset the chip. After a month your chip will be more accurate and give you better playing timez.......

Well, "Sag" they do, it's called dual tetris atHackmyPSP.com, now for those who say you have to keep the PSP on the case so it dosen't get scratched, youre missing something, :hmmn: it's called a screen protector, <3 it's a little peice of plastic like material that protects the screen from getting scratched, MESSAGE TO EVERYBODY THAT OWNS A PSP: GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR, I also found a way to get it online and I customized my home page, I think that everybody that hates the PSP or whoever owns a PSP that breaks on them shouldn't even own a television, because they are sooooo stupid, the PSP rocks and does alot of cool stuff, true, they do burn a hole in your wallet, but it's just coming out, give it some time, download the tenchi no web browser and have fun
