I would get this if I didn't already have a ds lite, but I don't think the added camera feature is quite worth it. That is, unless some really awesome dsi-only games are released :)

it looks like a little bit of an overkill , but its only 180 so id think it would be worth it for all the stuff youd get , and ive still got the first ds, i didnt update to a lite because , i just basically forgot lol

I'll probably not sell my current DS untill the price goes down. I don't usually get game systems when they first come out.

Not sure it'll be good. In my opinion, when you take device that's doing something well an then add other stuff to do, it ruins the entire device. Let's take an iPod for instance: it's design to play music and does it pretty good. Then added some features like touchcreen (iPod touch) or even cellphone. It's still doing music OK, but instead of doing it perfectly, it is average. For me, a cellphone is to phone, a mp3 player is to listen to music, a digital camera is to take pictures and a console is to play. You can't build a device that can do everything. So I think...

i heard ndsi hav region lock :)?

I believe the DSi itself will be region locked so you can only download the apps and other DSi-ware games from the region of where your DSi is purchased. I don't think that the games themselves are not region locked, unless they are specifically DSi games themselves. So the problem is if you want to import a DSi, not if you want to import games(most of the time).I believe that is what they originally said about it, but not sure if they changed anything.

There's gonna be a nice market for homebrews on the thing, and while the lack of a GBA slot is lamentable, GBA games are best played on a Micro anyways (this little thing is tight).

Be careful about that. If it's an import, then you will be locked out of all DSi games that aren't from that region. So if it's from Japan, it'll only play Japanese DSi Games and DSiWare. (But to my recollection, regular DS games don't apply to this.)

Just like any new operating system, I will wait until the bugs are worked out and a support base is established before I upgrade. I don't upgrade anything until I have a "NEED".Jimbo

I'm currently owner of an original DS. I read somewhere that apparently the DS doesn't support MP3. Instead, it uses the ACC (or AAC or something) as format. I'm still waiting on confirmation on this one. So I'll just wait and see.

I think the DSi was a waste. No gba slot, so you can't migrate pokemon.

i think that the dsi is totaly worth it i mean a camera, web browser, mp3 playe, sd cards, games and much more for just $180 if the dsi had better garics it could blow the psp out the market for like a year

My DSLite is fine. The DSi isn't a HUGE improvement on the Lite so I'm not fussed about it. I'll be giving it miss.

This will be great, except it wont have a game boy advance part in it. But it has 2 cameras, a dual touch screen and a store with ds points in it! and a simcard slot,

I am waiting to get the DSi, April 5th, here I come... was going to get a DS Lite, but with the new DSi is on the release, why get the old one when in 2 weeks time, the brand new design will be on the shelf. Yes it will cost more, I guess the 2 built in camera will make up for the different! However, will miss the GBA port, since I still have a lots of the left over games
