Its gonna be terrible I think. Dropping the GBA slot is an awful idea. It would be better just to keep your DS Lite and just getting a DS flash cart and running moonshell. As for the camera itself you'd be better just using the one common to most cell phones.

Given the low camera resolution, loss of GBA slot and lack of MP3 support, IMO the only reason to upgrade to the DSi would be the online store. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get one if one is upgrading from a GBA, or perhaps a DS (Fat version), but probably not worth the upgrade from a Lite. That and the fact that the upgradable firmware will probably allow Nintendo to bork the new DSi-compatible flashcarts as soon as they figure out how.

its not worth it at all, they just added a bunch of useless junk for it to sell. all just gimmicks. plus, they took of gba compatability just to make it a bit slimmer

Link here. It's an mp3 player, a camera, and a DS. It's about $180 USD. Worth it? I don't think so since I already have all those things.Edit: Made this the official topic.

I agree, especially since you can do the same, minus the camera, with the assorted game cards like Acekard.

I'm not sure it does, but I have seen the Acekard2i in action with the DSi you can get one here...http://www.royaldsi.com/default.asp, good luck.

The DSi is trying to be a lot of things that it's not. A camera that is comparable to cheap camera phones (ie not worth it), ability to play mp3 files (there are tons of mp3 players out there already that do this better in a smaller package), and DSware, which might have been cool but they limited the content to regions. In addition, Nintendo took away GBA slot, which ruins features of many games such as Pokemon that used the slot to enable trading between older and current games. I'm sticking with the DSlite. It will play all games the DSi will unless they come with some game feature requiring the camera (and I doubt the DSware will be that good), plus I can still play my GBA favorites. I understand that there comes a point where Nintendo has to stop the backward compatibility, like the NDS and GB games, but you don't cut out compatibility with something thats not the next gen handheld but just an upgrade to the current gen handheld. No thank you, I'll stick with my DS lite this generation.

No GBA slot? No thanks. Maybe I'll get a normal DS if the price drops when the new DSi comes out.

Hmm...seems overrated...and it also seems that they're just trying to copy the PSP. =/ I would just rather buy a normal DS.

^ Well, the thing is the games around the world won't be compatible anymore....So is you live in the US, and want a Japanese game that won't be released/translated for the US, then you're out of luck...Out of all the "problems" (useless crap like the cam, and no gba slot) I think that that one is what turns me completely off from the DSi =(

Just for a warning to all you people, it does NOT play gameboy games, meaning some extras in certain games can't be unlocked, like sometimes you unlock things in games when you have a certain gameboy game in there

Cooly. Hope you have fun...or something.I've seen that Wario game demo that's on YouTube. All I have to say is, it makes you look a lot more awkward than screaming at your DS to get a discount at the shop in Zelda. Seriously, Nintendo, why must you make your customers do awkward things just to play a game?

Nintendo thinks of the crowd and entertains them by allowing them watch the player do stupid things. Here's a rough overview of it:The health and safety screen looks like a stretched version of the original ones, the system menu is quite like the wii one. For the DSi shop if you have a Club nintendo account you can link you DSi to it. When I first entered I received a 1000 point promotion gift(Woo Hoo!) to start downloading. Software is divided into 4 categories free, 200 point, 500 point and premium. The Web Browser isn't integrated but its a free download. The download animation consists if Super Mario characters throwing balls into box. Which fills up to indicate the progress. What I didn't like is there is no mp3 support for the music player and only players ACC format(.m4a)files meaning you need to convert your mp3s.Camera pictures are 640x480 jpgPressing the Power Button starts a soft reset back into the Firmware menu and holding it turns off the DSi. Brightness can be adjusted by holding select and pressing - and + on the volume control. Haven't tested any games on it yet(Since 95% of them are roms and cbf looking for my older games). I have yet to see the Mii feature, Im guessing it will be a free channel to download later on.

After reading a lot of the pages, I see a lot of bashing on the cameras. To be helpful to the DSi cause, the two cameras are different. The inside one is 0.3mp and the outside one is 3.0mp, which is better than most cellphones. I don't believe the inside camera is used for much more than new games that will make use of the camera. I wasn't sure about the music player before until the post above. It's kinda ehh that the format has to be ACC only because most of my music is in mp3. The fact that ACC format's quality is better doesn't really change the matter that its inconvenient.I'd totally get one.. if only I had money. Only 3-5 more days though!

I am going to buy the DSi and a 2nd generation (brighter screen) Gameboy Advance SP. That way I can play all DS games and Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and Gameboy Color games. Yeah it means carrying around 2 systems, but they are both small and I usually don't need both with me at all times anyways.

Yeah...I think I'll stick with my DS Lite. I don't see any point in buying this JUST because of a few new features.
