Link here. It's an mp3 player, a camera, and a DS. It's about $180 USD. Worth it? I don't think so since I already have all those things.Edit: Made this the official topic.

It's got DRM. I'll wait till necessary.

in my opinion, its ridiculous...they keep creating new forms of consoles just to make us pay. i mean they aready made the ds lite, why make another 1? why not just finalize it somewhere, and stop creating useless consoles who can play the same games with a few different features.it doesnt seem too promising to me...

I think its because of piracy. They added the fw upgrade support so that they can get the players to upgrade their DSi's with new games and make pirates life harder. Which you can see from PSP scene how well or badly it works. Also releasing downloadable games with Dsware will give them new income. And as well it wouldnt surprise me if they started releasing all the GBA games again XD

I agree but since they upgraded the ram they may also come out with specific games for the DSi

In accordance to the flash cart problem, all current flash carts on the market do not work except the latest few installments:- Acekard2i- DSTTi-R4i RevolutionAll other flashcarts will basically give you a read error on the card. The only problem is that I fear that a firmware update from Nintendo could actually make the current working flashcarts inoperable... I'll wait a bit before actually launching myself into one of those new cards.

Yeah I've been thinking about this as well, but there is really no way of Nintendo to force the FW upgrade. Same as with PSP, some new games require you to upgrade the firmware before the game works. Still the games get dumped and work in older firmwares. Also the games still need to work with the older DS models. I doubt that there will be many DSi exclusive titles and even if there would be surge of those I don't see how that kind of games (with camera) should suit my taste. But yeah I agree, it is bit iffy since its still early days and only couple of those flashcards work with DSi. Anyway for me decision was easy, I had the original phat-DS and bigger and brighter screen was a big improvement for me.

It's a bit disappointing that there's no more GBA slot and they're trying to get rid of flash carts... I guess I'll just go for a DS Lite since I don't have one anyway. The camera and mp3 player also doesn't seem to be a good idea to me now... even mobile phones have better cameras and music players already.

Wow. That is a strange idea. Camera, DS,etc... wt next??

heh, maybe they'll try to put sim card slots in it and call it DSi phone x.x

Im not gonna buy it. A ds is for gaming not picture taking and music playing

yeah, it should be for gaming... but the competitors are doing it too so... oh, well.

I'm really disappointed with the colors released in US. Wish they had released the white color just like in Japan. I don't like the black and the matte blue colors, so I won't buy mine until they release better colors.

Well, considering that gaming companies consider the world as Japan, US and Europe, I don't think Nintendo will be releasing it anywhere else. Probably you'll have to import from one of these places if you want to get yourself a DSi.

My dsi arrived today along with (amazingly) my acekard2i from Dealextreme. I have an 8 gb micro sd card and will get cracking soon to fill it up and d/l the correct firmware.I suppose it would be a good idea not to enable a wireless connection and therefore prevent an automatic update from rendering my acekard useless??POINTS were deducted for this post by shadowmanwkpPlease refer to the forum rules to find out why your points were deducted.

i wouldn't buy the DSi just because of the new camera and that. i prefer the GBA slots and i don't see the point of putting a camera in the DS. if i wanted to take pics, i'd bring a camera,

Well, I'm happy. For one, when this new version comes out in NA, chances are the DS Lite will go down in price. I recently lost my clunky, beat up, scarred, sticker-riddled NDS to a bottle of glue that lost its cap and gummed up the slots and power cord port, so I should be able to acquire a DS Lite.Assuming, that is, that this new one causes the price to go down.As far as the new features are concerned, I think it'll go well. Even though most people already own MP3 players and such, I still think they'll go for the gimmick. On the downside, it's not GBA compatible. That's a huge blow to my desire to buy it- one of the main reasons I didn't buy a PS3 was because it wasn't backwards compatible.

its pretty good the only part that i don't like about the dsi is you have to convert mp3 music files to AAC or m4a other than that its pretty sweet.

Who needs Guitar Hero when you got Video Games Hero. :foldarms:Anyway it will be interesting to see how Activision is going to solve the issue with no GH grip with DSi if at all. Not that I would get one, tested the grip thingie in store with DS Lite and my fingers didn't like the awkward grip.

For people complaining about DSi not having a GBA slot, I think Nintendo is going to make GBA games available through DSi store. So we'll need to pay extra to play some of the classic GBA games, and means more profit for Nintendo >.<

What are you babbling about? DSi has not been hacked yet and can not play GBA games. Phat DS and DS lite use the slot-1 for the GBA games. For DSi GBA must be emulated which is not a problem with the extra hardware DSi got but the problem is that the DSi mode has not been hacked yet.

Yea, I´m agree with you. They should release new colors. Additionally to facilitate and distinguish the owners.
