The region lock for the DSi does not restrict the DS games that can be played. The region locking refers to the downloadable games and to any DSi exclusive games that come out. You can still play games from Europe on an American DSi.I still think the extra sound conversion and the camera are useless without games that use it.And since they lost the slot for gba games, its almost ridicules to buy one now.A piece of novelty that will fade out onless the games for it are good (ok that basicly true for every console and gamingplatform ...)But still, I still stick to my original DS.(PS : the regional locks, what do they do exactly? like if you bought a DSI in America, and you live in Europe, you can't buy games in Europe that'll work on the dsi? because my nephew did ...)

i think the DSi is totally worth it because you can morph photos on it. however if you want toplay gameboy games on it, the DSi doesnt have a slot for gameboy.Link here. It's an mp3 player, a camera, and a DS. It's about $180 USD. Worth it? I don't think so since I already have all those things.Edit: Made this the official topic.

The DSi DOES utilize the camera in its downloadable games. "Warioware Snapped!" uses the internal camera to play. I have that game, and it's actually really cool.I still think the extra sound conversion and the camera are useless without games that use it.And since they lost the slot for gba games, its almost ridicules to buy one now.A piece of novelty that will fade out onless the games for it are good (ok that basicly true for every console and gamingplatform ...)But still, I still stick to my original DS.(PS : the regional locks, what do they do exactly? like if you bought a DSI in America, and you live in Europe, you can't buy games in Europe that'll work on the dsi? because my nephew did ...)

i agree. wiiware is pretty lame as of now so i'm not expecting anything good out of DSWare. i already have a camera and a music player. i like having a DSlite to play my old GBA games. i hope there aren't any games that actually require that camera. although knowing nintendo, they'll probably making incorporating that a requirement for developers now -_-:< Well I guess this was expected. The only two things that sound promising are the SD card support, and the DSWare (assuming it is like WiiWare). Still, it would be a complete waste of money for me if I bought this; my DSLite should suffice.I just hope there won't be any (good) exclusive games for the new DS.
