R4DS is completely outdated, so you can't count it as a good feature. Besides there are flashcarts compatible with DSi, so homebrew is a possibility. And you'll pay US$40 more for some new features and a upgraded hardware, so it's not that expensive. I still think that DSi is a good choice for those people who don't own any DS.The DSi is totally NOT worth it!Reasons:* Crappy sound quality* Improved graphics? Really?* 0.3 MP Camera! 0.3MP... that's like worse than VGA!* All the store features just makes it more complicated and is a waste of time!* Expensive for the features.* No place for the safe old R4DS* No homebrews* No GBA games! Over all DSi is CRAP! Just think about it! Wasting about AUD$300 on this thing is NOT WORTH IT! STICK TO DS LITE!

Apparantly I'd have to change my mind if I were you. If I recall correctly, I believe future DS games will be DSi exclusive. If this is supposedly true, than Nintendo pulled off a smart stunt. But I do agree with you on the fact that DSi is not worthy of being appraised very highly. They just put in few gimmicks. The only problem I have with DSi, and I guess you could add this to other DSes, is that wifi only works with WEP security settings, which sucks. So there goes my plans for Pokemon wifi.To Silex:1. I don't think it's THAT big much of a deal. But then again, I've never played my DSi outside my house, so I wouldn't know. But I did play it for at least 2 hours and the battery didn't seem to be anywhere near dead yet.2. Up to you, but you should read what I posted few sentences ago about buying DSi.3. From what I've heard, DSi will now support not just WEP, but WPA as well, but this fact applies to only the games that came AFTER DSi. Pre-DSi games still need WEP only; and the browser sucks. Not only it takes hours to load a page, but some good sites (i.e. youtube, etc) won't work. But then again, I don't even know why you would wanna use internet for youtube or other sites through your DSi for anyway, since you should be using your computer for those stuffs.4. You'll obviously be able to access the internet and apps that goes with them like DSi shop, but wifi is guaranteed to not work if you're playing any Pre-DSi games. Also, to pinkfoxyone, what's wrong with having only one touch screen? I think it's better that way than having two touchscreens, because that would be overdoing it, would it not?Link here. It's an mp3 player, a camera, and a DS. It's about $180 USD. Worth it? I don't think so since I already have all those things.Edit: Made this the official topic.

I have to disagree with you here - for Nintendo to intentionally shut out 101 MILLION current owners of original DS's & DS lites would be downright STUPID (number of units sold taken from Wikipedia). I don't disagree they will produce at LEAST one major franchise game that will only be compatible with the DSi, but I can also see them doing the same thing they did with Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess; fancy-pants 'real' version for the DSi & not as pretty, less features for the regular DS. Completely leaving perhaps their most popularly selling console in the cold for a new one that the average casual gamer sees as just another version of the DS would be a huge 'jump the shark' move, like Sega did with the Saturn & Dreamcast.Your points defending the DSi's merits are also rather weak. 1) A portable console needs to be just that - portable. You shouldn't feel tied to an electrical socket, which is the case now, since our handhelds no longer take regular old double A batteries. The DSi's battery life is not acceptable though, imo, at 9-14 hours on the lowest brightness setting, compared to the DS lite's 15-19. That's fine for daily bus rides or whatever, but a long plane/car/camping/whatever trip? Absolutely abyssal. 2) DSi will offer WEP & WPA, as well as WPA2, if the game allows it. Another weak excuse from you on the DSi's part of not supporting some pages & being slow. Yes, we all know a computer is preferable. But, they're trying to offer us a portable browsing device that's competing with browsers on cellphones & other devices. That means it needs to work. If you want to market a jack-of-all-trade device, it needs to be impressive in all categories, because as stated elsewhere, we all have cellphones, MP3 players (oh, & the DSi won't even play MP3s...), & a DS. Think the Swiss Army knife would sell well if some of it's gadgets only kind of worked? All in all, I think the DSi is a rather wasted effort on Nintendo's part. Not as much as an outright flop as the Virtual Boy, but still completely unnecessary in their continued domination of the handheld market. The DS didn't need an update to continue to sell like hot cakes, & I think their time & energy should of went towards an entirely new handheld in a few years than a DS v1.5.Apparantly I'd have to change my mind if I were you. If I recall correctly, I believe future DS games will be DSi exclusive. If this is supposedly true, than Nintendo pulled off a smart stunt.

I found this post ironic, because you're pinning these characteristics down on a devilish entity, and I was certain that you'd be steadfastly against the DSi because of this, but then you go ahead and go "DSi FTW." Honestly, did you lose focus halfway through your post?YOU SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH. Do NOT group Nintendo in with those...Well. Let me put it this way:Apple = Umbrella Corp. Also, DSi FTW.
