*sigh* I know people don't read many books nowadays. But many people, like I, would spend a fortune for something like that so it could make money (of course, I would probably download it). Maybe they will make it! You could download the game guides.

That's a great idea, gives a reason to bring them to schools, then Nintendo gets mad money.

The screen is a bit small though. It'd probably put a lot of strain on the eyes to read from the screen. Imagine a 1000+ page book.

Ah the naivity of everyone when we all thought that the DS is made to be an EBOOK reader. Sorry guys but I also thought it was great if the DS was able to read books in PDF form, which wasn't.There is already a freeware program to be able to read PDF files on you DS but the problem is, as bullet had said, it's not that convenient to read texts on the DS even if it's a pocket book or a D&D core rulebook. The PSP on the other hand has a much better screen than the DS, making it the most practical console to read books on.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Some books are really awkward to carry around due to their size along with sometimes being hardcover, and softcover ones could get damaged easily. And if people can transfer Visual Novels into DS games (like Fate/stay night: http://img407.images...nightdsgu8.jpg) this should be more than simple.

All those pizza, "two for one" deals are really from the government to fatten you up, then when you're too obese to do anything they ship you off to the Red Cross where they rip out your liver and turn it into pepperoni to start the process all over again.

ACtually it can work... but you know how nintendo works... only videogames... at least in America. I read a long time ago about a new device to read mangas on the DS, but of course it was only for japan and I don't know if it was release or not. It would be cool to read comics or novel... or why not, download some newspapers or mag through the wifi connection... but again, Nintendo has the last word... and it usually is "NO"

Yes it would be a great idea. Maybe it'll even help those people who always play video and NDS games to start being interested in reading a few stories. :)

Dunno. If it's anything like the Reading exercises in Brain Training that it'd be alright I guess...

sounds good, but you have to turn the ds around on it's side. still, that's not a big problem. I'm a big fan of books, so it'll be great

After a while, I think a DS book would be really bad for your eyes. I'd say just get a real book.

No. There is nothing better than a REAL book to read. Imagine reading Harry Potter on a DS...all the mystery would vanish.

There are many Japanese games like this already. And the Phoenix Wright series and the game Hotel Dusk are kind of like books on the DS, but with some puzzles shoved in. But I don't think this would work in the US because the majority of gamers are people who couldn't care less about education. Not including me, of course. This idea is great.
