I think it's a good idea. Brain Age had extracts of some classics; they worked like ebooks.

There are a few programs that can be used to read books using moonshell is one homebrew program. I use dsreader. It works pretty well and reading white words on a black background is great when I read at night in car. You'd have to do a search on it, not usre they have it here. Eddie Park is the author of the program. I had to convert my dpf files into txt files and save in on my sd card.

This is the 100 Classic Book Collection that a few people have been talking about.http://dgemu.com/nds-details-3212.htmlI think it's a really neat idea, as you can hold the DS sideways and use your finger to "flip" the pages. These books are old classics, meaning some heavy-duty reading, but there's a few gems in there that I enjoy!

it would probably hurt your eyes to look at the screen too long and the words would be too small

its a good idea but pplz might abuse it like playing it at school when they say they are going to use it to read and also alot of pplz dont read books these days since they dont really like school and would rather do other things like playing games XD

I've always thought about this. It'd be a good way to sell books, imo, what with it being easier to carry a DS catridge than an entire book.

I think it's a pretty good idea but I read somewere(not exactly sure where) that some japanese kids have their textbooks in their DS so who knows if they'll come arround and bring something like that where it can be apreciated

It would work, but this great idea would not get to many people, as the majority of people these days would prefer, say, playing sports over reading off a DS screen. Plus, I don't think it would be very good for your eyes.

Ya with the touch screen it would work pretty well. I know if they used the Microsoft reader software I would be thrilled. I got a tun of that stuff. I can only read them on the PC right now. <3

Yes, my son has 100 Classic books . I thought the screen would be too small to read in comfort but tried today and found an old favourite. Could not put it down, so would love a wider selection of books to chose from. Great while travelling. Live in hopes anyway. I have loads of audio books I use on my ipod but none in text form.

PEOPLE STILL READ! :P yeah it might work but most books are about as big as a DS why lug your DS around when you can lug the book around instead?

I think that ebooks on the DS would be a great method of reading when you need to save space while traveling. The application would have to have some way of resizing the text so you could adjust to your viewing comfort. But if they ever came out with something like this, say with ebooks for download (hey! maybe on the DSi for a small price) I would consider it.

paperless is a great way to go green, but the DS screen is too small to read a book on it, I would not even try, I'm already having bad eyesight.

I think that would be a very good idea! that could encourage those who dont like books (like me :o) to read someone. And we could bring it everywhere :o

That's actually a good idea, except you'd hurt your eyes looking at the screen. But, hey, I'd do it! :-)
