I like the real games better, because they could be played anywhere and don't take up any extra space on your computer or cell phone. But for rom's, it's much easier to get cheats and stuff.

i think for long story-based games like FF7, the real thing is the way to go. But for great games such as Super Mario Kart, roms kick donkey (especially when you have computer controllers!)

ROMS because I make a lot of mistakes that I can undo with save states and it's easier to read guides on the computer while you're playing it.

It's always nice to have the box art and the manuals and stuff, but ultimately the ROMs do provide the same entertainment for (nearly) nothing!

If I can get my hands on a the real one at a reasonable cost I'll usually do that, but otherwise I resort to the rom.

Real games every day of the week. Roms are there for abandonware, to try before you buy or to play something early before I buy the title.

I like ROMS better than the real thing because you can switch between games easily

I'd say Real thing, since I'm a purist. But ROMs have their advantages. For one; I've just moved outta house and All I've got are some clothes and cash. What do I do when I am secure enough financially to get a console/Handheld?1)Get An X360 with games and XBL (A Valid Option)2) Get a DS, Overclock it, then buy myself a NoPass and Hacking equipment, then upload the FlashME Firmware and play ROMS on my DS to my hearts content.BTW. I've got all the games I've DL'd, so don't try and start getting up me for that.

Well I don't know about hacking a DS, but the real thing is much better. For one I don't like the awkward control layout on the keyboard no matter what layout you use.Recently I've played Mario and Luigi Super star saga on both the SP and the computer and I found the SP more enjoyable no matter how many features the ROMs had.

i like real games, but its useful to have them on an updated system, like with roms you can play them on a computer with an emulator or a homebrew program when the system it was originally made for gets replaced with a new one. For example my Game Boy Pocket died a while ago :wtf: but i can still play some of my favourite games because i've got a good emulator and i can download the roms :o the fact that they're free isn't a bad feature either ;)

i dunno, roms take up less physical space and i can get my hands on a ton of japanese games without having to import when i'm back home (or waste my yen while i'm here in japan). having many games on one flashcart is nice too...

Nothing beats playing the game in front of your TV with a controller in your hand, but there are some games that you can't get anywhere else, and let's face it, some emulator features are damn handy.

in roms if you cheat and your game gets ruined you won't have to cry about your money wasted right? but in real games once its ruined... bye bye hard earned money

Yes, some emulators have special features, but i prefer the real thing. the rom is free, but sometimes i feel like im stealing if i dont have the game already and just dont play my console anymore.
