Real systems. Nothing beats sitting down on the couch with a SNES controller in your hands. *drools*

I prefer having the original on tv. Feeling the nostalgia and playing the game through the original console in its original entirety (no graphic enhancements, no save states, all the good graphical limitations, etc) is much more fun I find personally.Of course, I can own everything, so the many things I don't have on console, I have them emulated...

ROMS are great, I tend to view them a bit like 'demos'. My philosophy is, why should I spend my hard earned money until I know if the game is any good?

I prefer having the actual game. It gets really irritating trying to get used to using the keyboard.

ROMs since they cost less for each game. example in my country, a NDS ROM cost only 1$, while the real one is 20$. See the difference?

I can honestly say that real games do have a life span (and it shortens if you let your friends borrow the game) and roms are basicaly game hacks and require special hardware to transfer data from card to computer and vice versa. And yet I am still addicted to roms because I can actualy play FFVIII on my laptop (which weighs about 6 pounds or so my mom says) which makes me happy because my friend trashed my FFVIII disc 1, which is now full of dents). Overall I say that Roms are the way to go because they are Legal if you have a copy of the game and the ISO files can be used to make a new game, but the only downside is that if you do not have a copy of the game it is ILLEGAL.

i'd go with roms, they're just so much more convenient then games are, you can store a huge amount on ur pc or laptop and different systems too. plus, like with the VBA, there's a fast forward button, if i didn't have that button, half the games i have on here i wouldn't play in real life :)

i like console gaming better, but roms let me play games for free, at a cost of slightly reduced quality, it isn't too bad plaing N64 games with an Xbox 360 controller ppl

The real thing simply because you know it'll work when you get them.

The ROM is nice because the emulators come with built in screen enlargers or built in cheating devices. But, I love real tangible things. Like I always say, "nothing beats authenticity".

I only have one problem with the real thing for my NES and Super Nintendo; the games tend to stop working due to age. That is one reason that I have not played my NES in a long time. It's like I have to battle with the thing to get it to work, and once it does, the slightest shock could send it into that black and grey flashing mode that I despise so much. I have heard that there are things you can do to make it work better, but I don't know if I should do that, and I can't remember what site it was at.

The actual game. Playing the game on the actual console really brings back the nostalgia. However, roms are great because the old archaic games you can't buy at the store are here and FREE.

Even though from my experience, both are equal, i prefer ROMs over real games, since it doesn't take me long to get the system and the game onto the computer, and if it doesn't work, that's no money coming from me, I'll just find a working ROM.

I personally prefer the real thing, there are usually much less errors or glitches that occur, plus it makes you play the game as it should be. Often playing roms makes it too easy to cheat or alter choices you wouldn't have been able to in the real game. Basically the real games are more chanllendging and thus more entertaining.
