Donkey Kong Country 2 is my favorite because of its atmosphere and it has lots of cool levels.

I agree. the first one was the best. it started it all and the other ones to me were pretty much the same thing.I would have to say the first one.

Diddy's Quest would have to be the best as the environment and worlds just seemed much more interesting to me. Pirate ships, bramble gardens high in the sky, haunted forests; these were much more enjoyable and beautiful then those from the third game and it's mechanical oriented world. Not to mention they replaced a fierce horned tank with an animal whose only good point is the ability to suck (pun intended).

i would say two is deff the best-the lost world is so cool....and the way to get there is epic....and there are so many more types of bad guys....by far the best one!

Two. The level layouts were vastly improved upon the first game, the number of animals was nearly doubled, and the music just plain rocked. I didn't like 3's presentation, I didn't dig the whole mechanical theme towards the end (although K3 was very fun and had an inventive name). 2 > 1 > 3.

For me the first one was the best. It also has the better soundtrack out of the three.

The first Donkey Country was a classic. Even the GBC version was good!

i like DKC III it was mad. i still laugh when dixie or kiddy kong loses a laugh... sometimes 
also finding all the DK coins is fun

I gotta go with the first one. When that first came out, I was simply stunned by the graphics and realistic gameplay. The game has a way of "moving" with you and it gets pretty chaotic which is fine by me.

Donkey Kong Country, no doubt. The atmosphere and gameplay were simply amazing. I've ran through the game so much. It's truly an inspiration to the DK series.

Donkey Kong Country 2, mainly because it got the "full completion run" right. In the first game you have to spend too much time jumping down holes and messing around to find the game's secrets; in the third game, all the bonus barrels and DK coins are much too easy to find (I was able to find almost every one on my first playthrough of each level). DKC2 strikes the right balance. It also features the hardest levels to clear, like Animal Antics.
