My DS has been very reliable and I presume that to be, at least in part, thanks to the fact that it has no moving parts.

Nope and I hope I never have to. I take as much care of my DSi as possible. It gets me through those boring times. And it's my music player! D:

Nintendo's repair service is impressive. My DS was so badly wrecked when i sent it in. It came back basically brand new for a small price.Well impressed...

Have not had to send in a DS yet, but I have sent in a couple of GBA's and one came back with better screen color than I have ever seen before, another came back with an odd heavy on the red so there must be some tweeks they can do at the repair center.

Guess I've been lucky, bought it 2nd hand and it has been fine. Sometimes it does not recognise my R4 card at once but if I put it in a 2nd time it is usually ok. Admitedly it does not get that much use now. I tend to play online games on my pc but always take my ds on holiday as it takes up no space in my luggage.

I've had a DS for a long time, and so far it hasn't given out on me.You have to be careful not to drop it or smash the buttons.

I've never had to take my DS in but my old one (Original) had a very bad screen and was badly scratched. I did nothing about it though.

Yeah, I had to send in my DS after it got smashed when I fell from a few stories. My legs were broke, but my DS was okay, so I was fine.

i've never gotten one with a problem so no, and the lite is more fragile than the old one so you have to take care of it well.

Well, my DS light has a few years already and so far I didn't send it for repair, even though my slot-2 isn't working (if I have a GBA game there it just reads as a "DS Option Pak") But that doesn't really bother me at all.

I think I've had four DS's (two originals, two Lites, and I've seemed to have quite a few problems with each of them), but I've only ever sent one of them in for an issue it had. I don't know how to explain it, but the image from the bottom screen seemed to show up on the top screen in red over top of the image already on the top screen. It was after I'd left it out in the cold for a long time, so that may be why it malfunctioned. Well, I was happy because customer service was nice and I seemed to get a new DS, or a very nice refurbished one with no scratches. I think that was my DS Lite that that happened to. Unfortunately, it has now broken again, and this time it's not under warranty so I'll have to buy a new one sometime.

I had to send in my DSi. I took out the little thingie that blocks off the GB slot, then lost it. Some stuff got in there and my DSi stopped working so I had to send it in. I got a new one though so it was okay.
