I didn't but I wanted one so bad when it came out. I don't anymore since I heard it was quite the battery drainer.

I have one! But it's no longer working. Something about the power wires inside that won't display the graphics properly. :P And I can't find any store that can fix it. Mostly they all say, "Game Gear what?"Too bad. I love this handheld (even it is bulky and uses six AA batteries! I can't bring it around unless there's a power outlet nearby. My friend did have an external battery pack). Played mostly Sonic on it, and unearthed some Sailormoon and Yu Yu Hakusho games :wtf: Ahh... I miss it. :PCame out early 90s I think? It was unusual because unlike the GameBoy back then, it was colored, had backlight and the sound can be turned up loud! :P

The Game Gear really did have a lot of potential at a system, but the lack of battery life really did kill it. That and the lack of a solid game library with frequent releases. :) Honestly though problems with their game library had plagued all Sega game systems over the company's life as a hardware manufacturer.

Got my GG on ebay pretty cheap. Kinda sucks because speaker doesn't work. Playing it kind of gives me a headache. I'm a big fan of the GG roms. Actually saw the TV tuner at a used game store in my town for $75 I think. I should pick it up anyway.

Heh, I dug mine out of the closet the other day when I saw the new roms! I loved it, it's pretty much as powerful as a modern Gameboy (OK, I exaggerate a little), but it's 10 years older!

I do. I bought one last year to replace the one someone stole from me over a decade ago. Before that, I literally hadn't held a GameGear in my hands since 1994. A similar thing happened with my original Super Nintendo, but only I had myself to blame for that one.

... Actually saw the TV tuner at a used game store in my town for $75 I think. I should pick it up anyway.

No, you shouldn't pick it up. The GameGear TV Tuner flat-out sucks. I got one with the used GG I bought last year. If the TV Tuner's price was based on how well it works, it would practically be free. You have to be stand near a television or other electrical appliance to get good reception. It's so outrageously finnicky. You definitely can't go out in the middle of nowhere and expect it to work. And even when it does work, you only get ABC, NBC, and CBS with a ton of static. The TV Tuner is a just a novelty that people think they can grossly overcharge for. Don't spend more than ten bucks on it.

I'm afraid that the GameGear is too old for anyone to actually own it. Plus I don't think that it's a classic.
