Hey guys,I'm looking to branch out a bit in my gaming reviews, as recently I've purchased some titles that I've been rather disappointed with. I bought them because they received good reviews, go figure. So where do you guys go? I've decided that Gamespot and IGN are corporate whores more or less, and have been going to Metacritic or GiantBomb for game reviews. Anyone have any better recommendations though?

It is actually quite hard to decide upon a review site due to the fact that each person has their own tastes in games. You might often see a good review on a game, but when you play it yourself, you just wonder why you don't feel the same at all...I know as it personally happened to my many times also. You should continue viewing those websites, but base yourself also on the gamers' reviews and such. For example, Gamespot actually has a review from one of their editors, 1 section where the players can review the game, and also another area where it shows what other review sites thought about the game. That should actually help you a bit more.

Generally, Gamespot is always the most reliabe in my eyes..but it is often wrong in its negativity, though if a game is good, it always knows.

I prefer GameTrailers (I usually agree with them), or polish game site Gaminator.

Try Teletext.ITV Digital (ITV 1,2,3 and 4), pages 806-809 everyday. Called GameCentral. I trust them to deliver a fair verdict, and they haven't let me down yet.

I tend not read any reviews, because I like to pass judgment on games myself. However, if I want to do some preliminary research, then I'd go to Gamespot.

Gametrailers is also my pick, yet their list of game reviews are lacking compared to gamespot or IGN. It's best to go to each of the visit and look up their different reviews on a certain game to get almost the whole picture.

Usually IGN and Gamespot. I also make sure to read at least a few gamers' reviews, including the ones with the lowest ratings, as to broaden the bias I'm undoubtedly receiving. Got to have an open mind, you know.
