air and water, for daily needs of electricity? make the generator move faster by controlling the speed of the wind or the stream of water. stopping the floods(my neighborhood get floods) by freezing them with cold air stream or send them back to the ocean(steaming it up would be useless because it will be raining again). make cleaning the whole house faster with just gathering the dust with wind or washing them up. and blow enemies or freeze them or drown them or so on.
If you could control an element, what would it be?

Air for the simple joy of it.Water would be my main stay though. Hell, 70ish% of the human body is made up for water... you could do a lot to a man by messing with water content. D:

Wind for me: my Zodiac sign (Aquarius) is the wind element so that's logical plus wind has incredible force!

Carbon, maybe helium. I could do so much with helium, like floating, but I could make awesome stuff out of carbon, like carbon nano-fibers. Make a bullet-proof house out of it, maybe a bicycle with a shield...>Edit: You all realize that the air you breathe is not fully oxygen, right? It's mostly nitrogen, too much oxygen could get you sick... And fire, water, air, and earth aren't elements.

I would control the element of lightning. Lightning is light, which is the fastest particle that exists. I'd be unbeatable as long as I wasn't facing someone with the rock element (wow, this is pretty much like pokemon at this point)

I'm a cheating rascal, so I'm going to pick causality as my element.Energy, time, space, matter, etc.; everything falls to the rule of cause and effect. Being able to manipulate that freely means I can deny anyone the ability to effect anything at all or I can cause whatever I want to without a logical precursor action.

I'd pick water only because im a scuba diver so i would be able to travel looong distances in no time while still enjoying the submarine view, also because water kinda soothes me and because i live next to a beach =D

Wind for flight, invisible attacks, ripping the air from your enemy's lungs and breathing underwater with a bubble of air. I think it would work out quite well.(grammatical edit)

Water, yes.I would want fire, but that is traditionally hard to control, as well as... well, water is just cooler than fire in my personal opinion. Water pwns all. >.>;l

I'd probably pick Air. If controlling an element is similar to how it is in Avatar The Last Airbender, then I would definitely pick air! There's just so much possibilities, plus you can fly! kinda...

i would have to say fire... in any game i can think of fire is always my choice, even in all the pokemon games i would always pick the fire starter (eg: charmander)
