I am taking it that you mean basic elements. In that case I would choose fire or water. A flame from a simple match could be expanded and used anywhere and any time and almost always be used to its max power as long as you allow its power to build.Water on the other hand can be weak. As common as water can be, in the middle of nowhere specail, maybe a water fountain, the amount of water you see is all you get to control. Though standing in a boat or even a swimming pool or in the middle of a storm, the powers of water can overcome that of fire.After typing all that I must change my mind to Earth... it is boring but theres a nearly infinate suply of ground to control and thus the power of earth is strongest and almost unlimited.

Metal. There's a ton of it anywhere you go, plus I would replace the blood in my body with metal. That way, I could never be hurt too badly, and I needed to attack someone, then I would just remove some metal from my body or the surrounding area and use it to make blades, or poisonous metal clouds. Also, I'd have invulnerable body armor :(My weakness would be magnets >_>;;

You do know you need blood to live, right? It has to do with your cells requiring oxygen and glucose.

I would want to control water because you need it to sustain all life on earth and it'd be hard to stop it from going anywhere I direct it.

The power of light or earth. The sun would be my source of strength for light element. Light symbolize goodness, so yeah.I like the earth element, because it's part of life and symbolizes strength, power and courage. . .

I would either be electricity or weather or mind. I think that electricity is good for electronics because you can always charge them. WEather is cool because you can control the weather, so if you are outside, it doesn't have to rain. I think that mind is also good because it allows you to truly see who is good and bad and able to control them.

What's up with 'creating' elements? Mind is not a freaking element. In no system of elements is there "mind", "light" or "weather". At the most, you have: Wind/air, aether/void, earth, lightning, fire and water. Pick an element at least. And no, systems from Japanese some random Japanese manga does not count. Elements are elements for god's (read: crude word for the infinitive form of fornication) sake.

Wind. You can fly, and use it for heat attacks as well as straight-out attacking and useful stuff.

I'd control Earth. It's technically the most powerful of all the elements and its the easiest to find if you have to have a source from which to control the element. XD

I'm confused as to how wind/air can be considered all that 'powerful'. Sure, you need air to breathe, but it's only really effective in terms of killing people.Earth is a powerful element, I guess. Some cultures associate it with life, but it'd need water to support it. It has a lot of power, considering earth quakes and volcanoes. You could make tools from minerals, but not without fire... (no, creating volcanoes doesn't count, you can't forge anything in a volcano, regardless of how many movies you've seen)I'd still say water is the best all-round element. Water can destroy, create and sustain. It's like all three 'main gods' in Hinduism in one.

I'd use some sick branch from all the basic elements in order to form a really complex strategy. Like, taking the Earth into consideration, you could use gravity to your advantage. That's a simple example, but yeah... If that's not what you're looking for, then I'm at least gonna say fire. It's simply the most abnormal of the four basic elements, consuming life in order to sustain life. And once all is gone, it goes away, as if its task is done... Unless something intervenes. Among the four elements, earth perhaps being the most stable, fire has a lot of weakness to it. But it can also be brought about so easily.

How the hell can you argue that fire is life? Fire is fire! Fire is what descends things from order into entropy! Unless you argue that life is chaos, and therefore fire must be life - but that would be a fallacy.
