If game developers don't get their act together, then it may happen. But...I hope not. o.O

well, first of all, tell me which games you have been playing, yeah sure, there are games that have been failing big time, but.. there are some games i give them time, and i actually like them. for example: disgaea... i hate this game... i never liked it... but... the DS version... hmmm... they made it different, idk why... but i liked it, i gave it like an hour, and i loved it... because, once i think its gets easy, and i think im overpowered... WHAM! they drop me some strong side boss, and i have to think a little bit more.

Just because a game isnt amazing doesn't mean the whole system is failing. What games are you playing?

they should just stop coming up with rpgs that can actually work for any other console. they're not using the touch screens well enough. i love games like hotel dusk that utilize the touch screen and has a good plot

Are you talking about games developed by Nintendo and it's development studios (Intelligent Systems, etc.), specifically, or just DS games in general? Two very different things. I have yet to play an Intelligent Systems game I didn't like, although I can't speak for the rest of Nintendo's development teams.

Well I think the NDS is one of the most entertaining handheld systems but lately they really dont got much ideas so when you buy some game you gotta check it first(You Tube of course),there where some pretty fun games for NDS dont you agree!!!

I don't know, it's been pretty hit and miss in my opinion. Plus, Chinatown wars is coming out, and that will be awesome.

I think it really depends on your age groups and interests. Little kids and adults are likely in love with their DS. Some of the games though do seem not that great at all.

Not many of the new games the DS releases are good. They seem to be more for kids under 9 or something.

I think they are doing fine. They are just trying to appeal to everyone instead of one group of people

I think the DS is similar to the Wii in that most games tend to not sell because the ideas are not original enough and are merely an adjusted storyline and slightly different graphics to the better selling games.

I don't think so. Even though most of nintendo's recent output, either developed or published, has been pretty Mediocre lately (except for Professor Layton), there are still third party devs to think about. For example, Square Enix. There's still a new FF Crystal Chronicles (that recently came out in Japan), and a new KH spinoff from them that's yet to come, along with the possibility of a TWEWY sequel. Sure, some of the third party devs release nothing but shovelware, but there are still a lot of great games coming out in the next couple of years. You just need to learn to be more patient.Just a side note- if you've never played The World Ends With You. Go do it. I don't care if you don't buy it (although it deserves to be bought), just play it and complete it. It's easily one of the best RPGs on the DS.

That's kind of embarrassing that you would phrase your question like that. Of course the DS is not failing because of software. The DS is not failing at all. It has a huge established audience and developers see that and are producing Shovelware. So on the whole, the library seems weaker. Although that depends on where you look. A great example is Moon. Good games are still out there, being made, and being planned. Just have to look a little harder when the device becomes trendy. XD

You can't judge the success of the system by your opinion of the software you try. That's like saying a car is a lemon because you put bad gas in it. For every game someone hates, there is someone that loves it. For example, I hate crossword puzzles but they are my Wife's favorite. Whatever type of game you like should be represented by the thousands of titles available. There are plenty of game review sites that will give you an idea of how the games play. The DS is a computer after all and different people have different taste so it only makes sense that there will be plenty of titles that don't apeal to a lot of us. The fact that there are thousands of titles and about 100 new ones each month means the DS is not failing. When they stop making games for it at all, that's when to worry.Jimbo
