I own a slim PSP 2004. It works great and I have a blast playing games and media on it. I think it is a tad cheaper than 3000 and the Go, so if you want a good investment, I'd say go for it.

2000 in my opinion, solely for the fact that you can just homebrew it. There aren't really many differences at all between 3000 and 2000, so if you're homebrewing, get the 2000.

Actually, you can run custom firmware on a PSP-3000 as long as isn't running firmware past 5.3, you just need to make a magic memory stick and pandora battery. So unless you want to get a PSP-1000 to hard-mod it, I would definitely go with a 3000.

I heard an exploit was found for the newly released PSP Go. You might want to hold off on buying one and check up on that, so you can have the newest model.

It should also be noted that with the full download interface of the GO, running a custom firmware would completely cut off your ability to purchase a game if you so choose. It would be nice to custom the GO and run a straight 3000 though

I believe the first PSP's were best, they are able to take more damage without breaking and have less technical problems.

Try the PSP 2000 or 3000. It's lighter than the PSP 1000. Or you can go for the PSP GO......It's cool and way smaller than the PSP and PSP Slim, but you can't use UMDs, you only get games by download(Not really a problem, actually).....
