Well... to the first two decimal places that are displayed in Windows Explorer.
The exact size in bytes should be shown in parentheses when you click properties. Calculate if it's exactly 3 GB!
I installed Windows 7 on a spare partition, and can say i absolutely hate it. Even with no programs running, it's using 60% CPU, and close to 800MB of memory.
BTW, I don't understand how you people are getting just the OS to eat up THAT much RAM... I just persuaded my little sis (well, she's an 8th grader, so... it wasn't difficult, given 7's looks

) to let me use her PC as a guinea piggy for 7, so I'm getting to run it now... Right now, while it's idle, it only consumes 490 MB with Aero style theme activated (still not impressive, I know, but still, not 700+, no way, and it does start up almost as fast as XP). It's only got Office+NOD32+Adobe Acrobat+VLC+2 messengers installed as of now. What else are you guys running? Also, I need time to get used to the interface... so, anyone know how to get this thing to hibernate?
the newfound stability of Win7
Save it until the retail version, pal. Are you aware that there were severe issues in the beta including one where WMP would permanently screw your MP3 files unless they're read-only (even though an update is available for that now)? It will probably get better later on as they fix stuff, but still, don't comment on stability so quickly just by using the beta... All this pre-release hype and praise and anticipation is giving me a deja vu feeling, which actually creeps me out... =S
