This game for me can gets boring real fast, it is somewhat similar to the online version, you kill mobs, they spawn and the whole cycle goes over and over again. Storyline seems interesting though, so if you do know how to read Jap, go ahead and try. For those who cant, try your luck or wait for the english version which somehow i doubt it will happend. But i am quite sure (at least for me) it is not worth buying but might kill some time.

i already beat the game and its fun u know

I don't think this game has MMO capabilities using wifi. Its an RPG game without the MMO part. The English translation of it is very glitchy and has a lot of critical bugs that freeze the game. I've managed to get the latest subbed version, but you still freeze when you accept certain quests.

It is playable if you don't know jap... Just that you will have to use a walkthrough to get through the game. Also, it helps if you have played the PC version, as some skills(of the ones I know of) are more or less the same. Some of the cards are the same, with slight differences. And I am not too sure if it will be coming out in English... but there is an unofficial patch already released. But I heard that the Merchant class doesn't work and causes the game to freeze on you.

this game was very disappointing, there are so many other games with the same play style that do so much more, graphically look better (not hating on Ragnarok style)

So I'm not sure why this topic got resurrected, but I guess there are still people interested in the game, so here's my two cents.(For readers just picking up on the thread, Ragnarok DS was released in North America in February. No need for patches, and you can buy it in the store! :))So this game really gives me mixed feelings. I used to play the original RO for hours on end. Even went for a marathon, plying for about 26 hours once! (that was pretty fun hehe) And then, unfortunately, my beloved server went down after the owner had a little hissy-fit. I tried some other servers, but none of them really had the same "feel" so I just kinda stopped...Then Ragnarok DS came out and I was like "Hoooo yeah, a chance to get back into RO!" But the game itself...man, it's just not very good. :P Sure it has the same characters, towns, visual style, and equipment as the original...but the actual battle system just doesn't work too well on the DS. Pair that with the awkward movement and it becomes really tough to deal with being out in the field. And then there are the obligatory dialogue scenes. You have to watch them. You can't skip through them. You can't even fast-forward them!Overall, it just loses the fast-paced excitement of the original RO and replaces it with hours of frustration. Oh well, at least it's got bunny ears! :)

I played this game which already translated in english... it's pretty fun and same gameplay as in PC... only it comes with story..but in 1 particular stage.... the game seems to hang... I don't know either it's because of the file... or maybe because the game is still unstable....does this only happen to me? or do you experience this problem too?

I hear you on that... I used to play the Sakray official server FOR HOURS on end until it died, and I was heartbroken. That being said, thanks for giving me a good review of the game. Part of what made RO so fun was the other players, so I think it might be hard to play this single version. And the battle system is key to enjoying it, so if it doesn't translate well for DS, I guess I'm not too interested. Thank you for the review . o.O
